Did anyone set intentions for their dreams without caring about lucidity?

Before I heared anything about lucid dreaming, I did set intentions for my dreams occasionally, which frequently worked out well. I didn't care about lucidity at all, as I didn't heard of it back then. Once I am in the intended scene, I remembered my intention and became lucid because of this.
Also, I succeeded with some WILD before, also without reading anything about it.
I remember having some random LD and false awakenings since I was 5, and I do a RC whenever I wake up since then, just to be sure. I didn't thought of controlling the dream, though.
I wonder, how many people actually come up with those things on their own, and how many actually start trying those things after they read about them.

I found it interesting to finally read about things you actually can do in dreams, like being creative, and I tried those. That is when I finally found to this forum.

I think the majority of people who are interested in dreams expeiment with them in various ways without knowing anything about the official terminologies like dream incubation, lucid dreaming, reality checking, etc. I know I did when I was a kid. I didn't find out what lucid dreaming was until i was about 16 or so, after reading about it in a book.

Lucky for all now there is the internet and it makes finding info about such things much easier. You also get places like Dream Views to discuss such things with others interested in the same. Glad you found us and welcome to Dream Views if I haven't welcomed you already.
