Becoming lucid without declaring that you are dreaming?

Has this happened to anyone, because I think It happened to me last night. Then after I knew I was lucid without ever declaring it I jumped really high around town onto skyscrapers. Then, at the top I was so excited that I yelled "I'm dreaming!" After that I also looked at my hands. But before I did either of those I felt the same control I did when I just 'knew' I was dreaming.. Is this common because it seemed quite neat.

      thanks

maybe it just means that your to a point where you dont even need to say it, thinking it enough to make you lucid.

Emperion, I often just "know" that I'm dreaming without having to say the words or do a reality check.

The more experienced I became with lucid dreaming, the more often I experienced this "knowing".

I was just wondering how common it is since this has only been my second LD.

I don't really declare it anyway - particularly with the WILD - you just become lucid and know it because you are conscious throughout the whole process.

yeah, in the beginning i used to need reality checks, but now i just know if i am dreaming or not. its the strangest feeling, to know that you are dreaming yet the dream seeming more real than reality.

Knowing in the back of your mind that you are dreaming without ever truly coming to that realization consciously is the basis for semi-lucidity.

In my (one and only ) lucid, I didn't say I was dreaming. Once I figured it out (no reality checks either ) I proceeded with the lucid. Which didn't last too long either . But I really doubt its a necessity.

It's like something in my brain just clicks
Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.
