I've read about people who have done it.


What would be really awesome would be if we could actally change our perception into how animals perceive, you know, like actually be one

I guess that's too much to ask for a simple LD, right?

Yeah, its really rare for people to have done it though. To preform it, you must be at a very high lucid level. I remember reading about someone who somehow managed to get turned into a piece of lead and was floating through space. Its always astounding what is possible even if you think you've heard it all.

yeah, I thought about that too. figured it would be 10 times harder to do that than just change form. if you could at least have the strength and speed of the animal it'd be cool. to percieve the world like them would be that much cooler.

It happened to me once, I was some kind of insect. I was somewhat lucid, because everything seemed very detailed, and I could think consciously, but I was still convinced that I was an insect, so I was very dumb and felt horribly limited. I could barely walk.

I'd really like to do it at will. I'd like to become a cat and meet my own RL cat, to be able to understand her. Perhaps I would wake up with some real knowledge of cat language.

I once dreamt (non-lucid) that I was some mouse or rat that climbed in my tree for ages with my whole family and after a while I just simply jumped down to eat some cheese..

then my house rat/mousefamily was poisioned but they didn't die.. weird dream..

Once I became a guinea pig

I couldn't pull off black and white vision though. I just ran around with my view looking like my eyes were about two inches off the ground.
It didn't feel too different, just like I was crawling around on all fours (except the actual feel of the floor was perceived a bit "differently"... It was just like what I had always imagined a guinea pig feels as it walks).


I don't see any reason why it would be hard to do this for anyone.
If nothing else, separate your mind from your body and possess the animal in question.

I morphed into an eagle once.. flying around, swooping etc.. picked up a dead trout from the riverbank, took it to a tree stump and ate one of its eyes, which tasted sweet, as I remember.. then I woke up.

Hmm, it seems to me that this is unusual for most on this forum. However, becoming something other than human is a recurring role in my dreams. I've been a shark, swimming in an astonishingly clear sea. I have also been a elite from Halo, fighting in part of the level 'Assault on the Control Room'. I believe I was once a wolf in some sort of wierd forest maze dream. I've had plenty of these dreams, I just can't remember all of them, or decipher what I am in some of them.

Though the one that really shocked me was about a month ago I became a Dragon (non-lucid at first). Yeah, that probably sounds wierd, and believe me, it was... It starts off hazy, I remember landing, then looking around. At this point the dream got a lot more vivid. I realized I felt, different. The landscape was dreary and depressing, I thought this was quite strange and decided to do a RC. I looked down at my hand and to my suprise I saw four red scaly clawed fingers... At this point I became a lot more self-aware and realized I had two rather large wings folded neatly behind me, a long tail meandering around behind me, and that I couldn't possibly form any comprehendable speech. I just stood there, I couldn't believe it. I knew it was a dream. But... whoa. Everything was so real, but so absurd (even though it felt oddly familiar). After about 15-20 seconds my viewpoint shifted to the third person, I saw a ~8 foot tall anthropormorphic dragon standing there. Then I awoke... amazed/horrified at the context my mind is able to place me in... Though I get the feeling i've become that form in other dreams, I just don't remember them...

Well... whatever. If anyone has any similiar experiences please speak up...
