Question Real life memories/awareness in lucid dreams?

When I lucid dream, and it's (early) morning, I will in my dream know around what time it is (hit and miss a couple of hours), and I will know where in the world I am in real life, and also what day it is. However, if I lucid dream in the middle of the night, and also sometimes early in the morning, I have no idea where I'm sleeping in real life, or what time it is, sometimes I even don't know what season it is, and I can't remember where I live.

What is "common" when it comes to what you can remember from your real life when you are in a lucid dream? What do you know, and remember about real life when you're lucid dreaming?

I'm just curious. It might be an interesting discussion.

I've discussed this on these forums a couple of times. My first lucid had full-blown awareness of the outside world, including day of the week, approximate time, and what I had to do the next day. If I stop to think about it, I can usually remember these things pretty well.

At another leve, I had a very interesting experience recently where I had a false awakening from one lucid dream, tried to write it down in the FA, but failed, then started another lucid. In the second lucid (while I was flying around!) I was concentrating very hard on what had happened in the first lucid so that I could write it down when I actually woke up! That's an awareness that goes across the dream/reality barrier and crosses back into dreams!

It depends on the level of lucidity. My level of lucidity of nearly always very high because of the method i use of becoming lucid so i know what day it is, where i am, aware that i am dreaming etc..

      Hey there,

Not exactly the same, but one thing that is very common for me is to remember events from other dreams from other nights. I'd for instance remember what happened the last time I tried to enter a certain dreamhouse, or the last time I tried to use a certain dreampower, including my waking considerations about it afterwards.

For example, in a previous lucid dream I was walking through a corridor where I suddenly had the idea that it was rather dark, and the entire dream 'blacked out'. The next time I was there in a lucid dream, I remembered the event, and remembered as well me thinking about it while awake the morning afterwards, and how my expectation had made a self-fulfulling prophecy. Armed with this knowledge, I simply chose to ignore the idea of the dark corridor altogether and move through it while already keeping my thoughts focussed on what lay beyond.

Things like that are quite common to me,

Most of the times I have reasonable good memories of waking life when I enter a LD after waking up in the middle of the night. For example I remember what time it was last time I looked at the alarm clock, or what was my position when I fell asleep. Many times I'm also afraid of waking up because of some movement of my girlfriend.

Yeah, there is nothing worse than being woken up from a lucid dream. Sometimes I'm glad I live alone.

      And interesting replies so far.
