My mind finds interesting ways to convince me im not dreaming

like for example. last night i had a dream that was one of those totaly rediculous dreams where stuff that should never happen does (IE flying donkies just for starters) and for some reason i was compleatly convinced that i was playing a video game and never once questioned it throughout the entire dream (which lasted about 30 minutes). anyone ever had a similair experiance

This is a quote directly taken off the DreamViews website:

"With low-level lucidity, although partially aware you are dreaming, you are not aware enough to have a great impact on your dream—you may accept some aspects of your dream that you would not normally accept in the ordinary world (you may not find it at all strange that your dog flies around the living room, etc.)"

why not just ASSUME you're dreaming every time you remember to RC? I mean, don't try to ask: "Am I dreaming yes/no", just "I am dreaming".

I used to be the same way, to where things that weren't normal would not wake me up in my dreams I'd just continue dreaming. You need to get into the practice of doing reality checks to the point to where when you see anything weird at all you instantly do a reality check. If you thought you heard something strange? Do a reality check. If you see something is misplaced in your house/room/wherever do a reality check.

I think the point I'm trying to get at is do a reality check as much as you possibly can. The more of a routine you get into doing it the more impact it will have on your dreams. The night before last I flew and the second I landed I immediately did a reality check because I knew I wasn't capable of flying.

I've done the same thing, especially the video game part. I go flying and convince myself that I'm using a flycam. Sometimes it even makes me loose lucidity.

Hehe, yeah that's pretty normal. I'll have incredibly ridiculous things like that happen to me as well, and not even question the reality of it. But in some dreams you have a low level of consciousness, I guess.
