Doing wild method before waking up????

As you all know WILD is when you wake up in the middle of the night and try to go back to sleep. But last night i just went to sleep normally and felt numb and got vibrations through my body and started to see HI. What i do is just basicly go to sleep how i normally do but then just close my eyes and stay relaxed. After 30-40 min im getting vibrations and seeing HI. Can anyone relate to this?? Can anybody WILD by just going to bed and not waking up??

      Hey there,

For me things like hypnagogia and vibrations and feelings of dissociation happen much more easily when I'm going to bed then when I wake up during the night. In fact they happen so easily they're pretty much 'standard' upon falling asleep, whether I'm trying to have them or not (unlike if I wake up during the night, where indeed I would have to lay awake for half an hour or more before they begin).

I haven't had a lot of succes with WILDs yet though, so I'm not a good comparison, but the few WILDs I have had have all been WILDs that happened on the onset of sleep, when I went to bed, rather then during the middle of the night after an awakening.

So yeah, it's possible, but it depends strongly from person to person, and from what I gather, for most its much easier to WILD during a WBTB.

That's actually a WBTB, WILD is keeping your mind awake while your body goes to sleep -- usually done in combination with a WBTB. It's possible to WILD without doing a WBTB.

And everything you're describing is standard for a WILD. And yes, that's how i WILD -- i go to bed, just stay relaxed, and HI come along with SP. I usually get distracted before i can get into a dream, but eh.

I actually did this last night, because I guess I was kind of tired cause of the 3 day weekend we got over here, I guess.

Anyway, I got farther into SP then I ever have before. I got full into numbness and everything, and the first time I've ever gotten true HI. Well I think it was HI, it was like colorful shapes all over my vision, but I fell out of it somehow.

Also, what was giving me a ton of trouble for some reason was keeping my eyes closed. They weren't moving around or anything, my eyelids just wouldn't stay closed it, it was very odd. Can anyone give me some advice or somethin'?
