What kind of a dream was this?

Alright so I had my first real LD that lasted past a few seconds last night. Yay. But that's not what I'm here about.

After this LD I went back to sleep and had another dream. In this dream I seemed to know I was dreaming. I mean I did some things that I wouldn't normally because I thought to myself this is a dream.

However I wasn't completely in control. I could control my actions and stuff but it seemed like I still had to follow how the dream went. I'm not sure if I could do anything that I would be able to do in a real lucid dream (flying, creating stuff, etc.).

It was like I was lucid but not really. Also the dream was vivid.

Lucid dreaming is merely the "awareness" that you are dreaming WHILE you're dreaming.

Lucidity also has nothing to do with "control" (meaning that you can be in a lucid dream.. but still not be able to affect any changes).

If you ever say (or think) to yourself, "I'm dreaming" and, once having said/thought that, BELIEVE it to be true? If so, then you were definately lucid.

Next time, if you're in doubt, do a "reality check". The reality check that has never failed me is the "plug my nose and see if I can breathe" reality check. It never hurts to do your favorite reality check a couple of times or even do two different ones.. just to really convince yourself!
