YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I Finally mastered Lucid Dreaming!!!!!! UPDATE!

      FINALLY!

After 6 months of trying I can now have lucid dreams at will!!!!!

I wanted to make sure it wasn't a fluke so i didn't write this after my first try, Ive had 3-4 lucid dreams each night for the last 7 days using this technique.

This technique is very easy to do, and is a great way to have Lucid dreams at will.

      ----------------------------------------------------------------

      1. You need at least 5 hours of sleep

      2. You must wake up in an REM break (a brief awakenings during the night)

      3. You should feel tired, and feel as if you can go back to sleep easily

      4. Just lay there in bed with your eyes closed as if your going back to sleep

      5. Now imagine a dream scenario and being in there. You should have a good idea what your scenario looks like.

For best results your dream scenario should be somewhere your very familiar with like your backyard, street, school, workplace etc.

Also you should do a simple task like just walking. If you try flying or something like that it will be harder.

An example would be walking along your street during the day.

      6. You should be imagining your dream scenario for about 20-30 seconds than go on to step 7

      7. THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT Now imagine seeing a Dream Character and telling them your dreaming.

Example “Im gonna have a lucid dream soon!!! This is just a dream! None of this is real! What do you want me to do to prove to you that where dreaming?”

Do something simple to prove to your Dream Character your dreaming, like making a dog or car appear.

Note: You shouldn't immediately talk to your Dream Character once you start imagining your Dream scenario (this is where most people screw up) you should walk around your dream scenario for a while (this gets you really close to the transition from imagining to actually having a Lucid Dream)

The reason you have to talk to a Dream Character is that if you don't you will end up losing consciousness as your mind transitions from imagining to dreaming. This technique is basically a WILD.

Basically you have to pretend that your having a lucid dream and it will eventually become a real lucid dream and by the time it transitions you’ll know that your no longer pretending and that your actually having a Lucid Dream.

      ----------------------------------------------------------

I guarantee this will work for ANYONE!!!!!!!

you will probably have a Lucid Dream on your first night!!

      Very, very interesting.

How are we to make sure we correctly time our waking-up within an REM break?

you do it all the time, an REM break is just a brief awakening in the night. You usually forget that you have them. But if you tell yourself to recognize them, then the next time it happens you'll know that youve just woke up

I'm trying this again, though I have one question. I've never really attempted waking up in the night seriously, I just turn on my alarm so that it wakes me up after 5-7 hours. This is good enough right? I usually go back to sleep after 1 minute

      ---------
Lost count of how many lucid dreams I've had

if you can go back to sleep really easily and and quickly than it should work.

This technique uses "rapid" midnight awakenings to achieve lucidity. Every night person can experience a number of awakenings, that may break of finish his/her REM cycle. They may be caused by various things, but the main thing is to find yourself awake.
Human body has certain defensive mechanisms that preserve the continuity of sleep and counter such awakenings. My technique utilizes these defensive mechanisms to induce lucidity.

I'll try it since it doesn't involve WBTB.

westonci...i just have a few questions if you wouldn't mind

      1) what methods were you trying before you perfected this one? had you had any luck with WILD in the past?

      2) how long do you think it takes to enter the dream...1 minute?

      3) when you say visualise a scene and your example..walking down the street. should you just be watching...or like imagining the breeze, and the sounds, and how it feels to walk on concrete etc

      4) whats your success rate...100?

      5) when you mean..you will loose consciousness unless you talk to the DC...do you mean..u basically hold a conversation about LDing until you work out that you actually are dreaming?

      and finally

      6) do you feel any transition into SP or anything? or is the transition from imagination to dream pretty smooth?

thanks..sorry for the heaps of questions!

so this method is only supposed to last a minute, I didn't try last night, I fell asleep before I could think about it, if this works for many people this should be placed into the tutorial section.

      ^Probably

This sounds like a cross between a DEILD and a WILD. I like lucid dreams where I don't have to wait for 20 minutes to enter SP

Superb to see people helping the others to get where they are. Now I am at the wery beginning of the learning proces, but like what you say. It makes sense. I have already stopped dreaming after rem period. Often it happens, when i try SP when i get into bed. My sleep gets less deep, and i am more likely to wake up. It would be superb to create a tutorial to wake up at will. Or to wake up more than once. And that would be my question. How to wake up multiple times at night?

      THX for resp.

Low attention-span version: Try this with WBTB

I've been trying this technique most every night for the past week.

This morning was the first time it worked completely. I think there is a lot of merit to this technique, but it definitely needs to be tuned to the individual.

Let me explain: each time I had tried this, (2-4 times a night), I found myself much too tired to continue trying, and my mind would stray within minutes, and I would fall asleep.

This morning, however, I unintentionally used WBTB (awake for about 15 minutes, 5 of which were actually out of bed) before trying the technique. Though your guidelines advise a very short awakening, I was able to have a 'day-dream' fully transition into a dream. It seems I had some vague sense of my physical body, however, and actually tried to move myself.

Unfortunately, this ended one of the most realistic dream states I have ever achieved. This level of vividness may have attributed to my wanting to awake.

I should note that after attempting to move (and failing, as SP had set in without my notice, as you stated) I had several false-awakenings, which also happened to be surprisingly vivid.

Sorry if I seem to ramble, I am just excited by the possibilities.

Though it alters the process somewhat, I suggest those having trouble try this with a short WBTB.

Isn't he just. I can have lucids at will almost with but with this technique you can go anywhere your imagination can create with anyone you want. Most of my lucids start off in my old house or around that area or my old school I have tryed this technique but it just doesn't work for me unfortunately.

I suppose i should just be grateful i can have lucids.

This sounds pretty much like the VILD method... Also this won't work for me because me mind needs to wander to fall asleep, but what the hell, I'll try it anyways.

I think he was referring to the visualised starting points of the dreams, i.e your house or front street.

Sounds like a great technique Westonci. Thanks for sharing it.

I really like the part about telling a dream character you are dreaming and then doing something to prove to them that you are dreaming.

I'll definitely give this a try.
