There is a name for it!

Hello all, this is my first post on these forums.

I am 19 years old, and have been having "Lucid" dreams my whole life. More often then not I'd say.

Although I just learned the name for these dreams not so long ago (about 10 min ago upon stumbling upon this site), and I'm happily suprised that there is a name for this, and that people actually try to learn how to do it!

Since I was little I always told family and friends that I can control what I do in my dreams to very specific details...most act like its nothing and figure that "I must be dreaming".

Although I do have a cousin that experiences this also.

Whenever I dream (Or whenever I remember that I've dreampt) it is usually Lucid, In fact I can't remember the last time that I've had a dream where I wasn't aware I was dreaming and controlling my every move.

My problem is, I don't dream to often (Or remember that I've dreampt).

Learning to Recall dreams better really interests me, and it's the first part of this site that I'll be reading.

Just wanted to post and introduce myself, you'll probably hear more from me in the future!

The basics of dream recall is have the intention to remember your dreams, and as soon as you wake up write down, or record your every detail dream.

      IR145, welcome to Dream Views!

It's wonderful that you spend so much of your dreams lucid and kinda sad that you don't recall them.

Below is a tutorial on dream recall: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=6207

For me, what really messes up my recall is being jarred awake by an alarm or some other sound and/or if I immediately change position or start thinking about my day once I wake up.

Try telling your subconscioius to wake you up after each dream or to wake you up about 15 minutes before your alarm goes off (I know it sounds stupid but you'd be surprised how accomodating your subconscious can be).

Once you wake up.. do not move! Think about the dream that you just had.. If nothing comes to mind.. try to remember if there was a specific person, place, thing, food or emotion in the dream. Once you come up with even a tidbit of the dream.. try to work your way backward.. how did you get there.. who was with you, etc.

Yes, even though can be a pain, write out your dreams when you wake up.
