The various ways in which I nearly got lucid this morning...

In terms of potential lucidity, I've had a great morning dreaming. Basically I kept realising I was dreaming.. but then I didn't actually bother to control it or anything.. I think the problem is I haven't been thinking about lucid dreaming as much over the last week, it hasn't really been in my sphere of thought.. so when I get a chance, I haven't really been seizing it quite as much as I would have done say a fortnight ago.

But anyway. Basically what happened on one of these occasions was as follows. I'd had a bunch of pretty lame dreams.. some involving big arguments.. others involving scary half-people with no souls running after me.. well actually, me and someone else. We'd been on the run for a bit, then suddenly found ourselves in my living room. I just took it for granted it was a dream, then said words to the effect of the following:

"I think I'm gonna wake myself up.. I'm really sick of this dream.. you know when you just wanna sleep, without dreams? *laughs* ..yeah I have that! Maybe I'll have a false awakening... shall we do it then, wake ourselves up?"

So we decided to. I'd heard about methods of doing false awakenings.. or even real awakenings.. and for a moment considered gauging my eye out.. but decided I didn't like that idea and so opted for the "open your eyes" option...

So basically I just 'opened my eyes' and found myself lying in my bed.. also I then started experiencing the vibrations associated with sleep paralysis.. except, this was a dream, because I was in my bed at home, not the one at uni.. and because of the 'SP' thing, I didn't wanna move so didn't do a reality check.

Anyway then I heard some weird noises in my room and 'got up'... only to wake up properly a little bit later. I then noticed it's 1pm and came on here to write this!

Thanks for reading if you did, I think it's great to be able to share experiences, no one should have to keep the magical, mystical world of their own head to themselves...

I suppose it's a good thing though that despite not thinking about lucid dreaming (nearly) at all last night I realised I was dreaming several times.
