      Dream Rants & Dream Raves

Im just curious how many of you have little annoying or pestering things in your dreams. If you feel like it, take a second and tell us what bothers you in your dreams.

For example: My whole life i have had a Re-occuring non-lucid where Im trying to run but i can only run very slowly. I try so hard to speed up but im moving like a snail! I hate it, i feel so stupid in these dreams and am very relieved when i wake up.

It can be an action, a DC, a re-occuring dream, or anything you wish

      HAPPY LUCID DREAMING

I always dream that I am lucid, but I know I'm not really lucid because it still feels like a dream.

Alot of times in dreams I will be memorizing random information for a test that I think I have or I will go to take a test in a dream and I won't be able to understand any of the questions and I'll be running out of time. Also another annoying thing with school dreams is that I won't know where my next class is.

I hate the way I end up dreaming about failing tests when there are exams in my near future. That and guns never work in my dreams. They might fire fine, but never seem to do an damage... that pisses me off.

By the way, shouldn't this be in the General Dreaming Subforum?

I must have normal dreams compared to alot of people because I don't remember ever shooting a gun in a dream, or chasing zombies or anything like that, maybe I need to play more videogames.

Another thing that is annoying is when beginning in late July or August I start to have school dreams again. I'm pretty sure I've never had a good school dream.

i hate dreams where i know i can do something (flying, transforming, doing some skill), but im not quite lucid enough to focus, and i can only jump up and down hopelessly trying to fly. this usually happens after i have done said thing once on accident and i am attempting to do it again.

it lasts the rest of my dream and i wake up feeling like i have no talent (what a terrible way of putting it) but you must know what i mean.

This happens to me all the time! I never know where my class is and I'm always late. In one dream it felt like I was a week late. Drives me nuts! This probably stems from a real fear I have. I'm going to start convincing myself during school that I'm afraid gravity will let up and I will start flying away. Then maybe my non lucids wont be plagued with the mundane.

I have reocurring dreams/nightmares about high school. In them I am my current age (28) but I had to go back because my high school decided I didn't complete some class and they will revoke my dipolma if I don't finish the class. The class is always totally incomprehensible -- a mix of foreign language, literature, and math. There are about 5 text books for the class, but I can never find the right one, or the correct page. Sometimes the books have whole chapters torne out or are blank!! I can't remember which locker is mine or how to open it when I do find it! Then I can't find my class room. Then my desk is broken. The chair is missing a leg or the desk top is covered in glue. I keep falling asleep during class. We have huge, 20 page long tests and I never know any of the answers. When it is time to go, I have to stay with my mom because I've moved since highschool. Then I can't find my car in the parking lot, and when I do the locks are frozen or there is so much snow piled around my car I can't get the door open, so I end up walking to my mom's house. But the town has changed so much I get lost!

For a while these dreams were so common that they became a dream sign for me, so whenever I found myself in a classroom confused about what I was doing there I just jumped up, floated toward the celing, and announced "Wahoo! I'm dreaming! You can all go fuck yourselves!"

Yeah this happens since you are paralyzed when you sleep. I hate this too, it happens to me pretty often, but in different dream situations. Whether it's trying to chase someone, trying to run away from someone, running a race, etc...

I have a very bizarre re-occurring dream. It seems to come around maybe once a month in various forms.

I am walking alone on a road and I seem to be concentrating in the distance. Out of nowhere, a person appears and breaks my leg with a bat (sometimes other objects.). This does not phase me and I continue to walk. Another person appears but seems younger than the first (20 years or so) and breaks my arm with a similar object. I continue walking to find another person (even younger) who breaks my second leg where I collapse to the ground. At this point, I am crawling with my one arm at what seems to be the same speed I was walking at. Then a baby comes into my path, and I am unable to pass. The baby slowly fades away and I am then looking down at the road from a birds eye view. I wake up.

This is very strange, yes because of the dream but also the fact that I have not once been able to become lucid during the dream.

I have a very strange reoccurring dream that i get about every month. What's so strange about it is that when i dream it, it's the same every time but i already know what's gong to happen in it. Kind of like playing a video game over and over again.
Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?

Ya i can see how that would be annoying! Especially if its not triggering your LD... Is it?

nope, for some reason it is not triggering an LD.

I HATE school dreams that make me borred stiff. I remember once that I had a school dream where I was locked up in this small octagon shaped room, (sorta dark too) and it was like 10PM in the dream. I had stacks of books to the celing (must have been like 2-3 stories) and I was forced to memorize everything in each book for a test, else they would never let me out. O_o the dream seemed to last for hours (I know it didn't but it felt like it) and I got borred out of my wits! lol.

I have a problem with guns too, whenever I try to fire them I have to put both my index fingers on the trigger and squeeze really hard, and even then the bullet comes out slowly.
I also get slow-motion duels where my gun won't fire while the other guy is perforating my arms and legs.

Last time I used a gun in a dream I shot the guy through the head, through the face, three times in the chest and then I took his gun, Sin City-style, if you know what I mean (normally I'm nice to my DCs, but he had it coming). The guy just stood up and tried to stab me!

A common theme in my dreams is getting stuck in an infinite loop. Even if i'm lucid and exerting all but complete control, the loop is REALLY hard to break free from.

The best example of this that i've had recently is when I was stuck drifting down a river and falling down waterfalls. The first time, I was floating down the river and suddenly went over the edge of a 30 meter or so waterfall. I then went about 100 meters farther downstream to encounter the same waterfall again! As I went over the next one 100 meters down, I started to fly. I looked down the river and could see it recursing for all infinity. To either side of me was forest so I started flying over that. After a while, I thought I had gotten far enough away so I go to land in a clearing and Sploosh! I'm in a recursive waterfall river again.

Now, I do everything Imaginable to try and get away or get rid of the river. I remember using intense heat and evaporating it, diverting the river, opening a portal to another place (this closed instantly the second I tried to use it). I was stuck back at square one every time. No matter what I did. So, following my instincts this time, I materialized a hatch in the ground and went down into it. Down there I found huge amounts of scientific equipment and a scientist. Assuming that the scientist was the cause behind all of this, I promptly killed him then leapt through a stargate-like portal that he had lying around.. =)

But yeah, whenever I get into one of those situations I'm like "oh... fuck" because they are annoying to break out of.

Well, I guess he didn't really like me for shooting him six times... But he had it coming. For some reason I had decided he was evil, so the shooting was totally justified! Totally justified I tell you!

      I like that picture btw
