Thread: nowhere land

hmmm strange...
try visualising something, start small (like imagine an apple in front of you or something) then build up a more and more elaborate dream world around you. Thats sounds cool anyway, its like you get a blank dream canvas.

Ive experienced something a bit similar. Sometimes I get to a stage where I keep slipping in and out of wake and dreaming, in and out in and out so that I can neve rhang onto a dream, then if I try to visualise something (usually sex ) I just get whatever I am thinking about in an empty void...a bit of a 2 dimentional dream.

I'll try that. Starting small. And sex is something that usually jumpstarts a dream. Last lucid dream I had, I was talkin to my ex, and suddenly realized it was a dream. And instantly jumped on her and started going at it. Kept me from waking up and kept my mind from wandering.

This problem can arise easily if you are unsure about what lucid dreaming truly entails.

Assuming you are new to lucid dreaming, this would mean you are not sure what exactly happens when you become lucid or what it feels like; thus it creates a large unknown aura.

This unknown aura would be manifested in your dreams when you become lucid as emptiness, dark, nothing, because you are not sure what happens.. It appears and manifests as emptiness because, of course, dreams are completely in your mind, thus, what you expect and what you feel is what will be projected, and in this case, unknown and uncertainity, would manifest as emptiness.

Of course it make one wonder, "Why emptiness?". Well, darkness is always associated with mystery and wonder, an unknown factor. You see it all the time in the media when they use dark lighting to create a "spooky" factor, or dark clothing or masks to create the unknown and mystery effect.

Thus, it comes to the dreams..

To overcome it, simply realize all this and just create any scenario you wish. I commonly like to think of highly populate areas as you can become lost in the crowd.

Well, I have been "dreaming" for about a year and a half. I don't know how far you've all gone,though I have talked to people who have obviously far more experience than I. But this problem is a new one. I've had lucid dreams before. Even before I knew what a lucid dream was. And usually when Im lucid, one of two things happen. I explore my world adn it's possibilities, or get too excited and wake up. And of course there's always simply losing lucidity. Of course you are right that this "nowhere land" is a projection of myself. It can only come from one place. Me. Well, I'll see where it takes me, and next look at this as an opportunity to learn something. Thanks for the help. Ill see where tonight takes me.

Hmm, I too have had the 'blank dream canvas'
I was in a white space of nothing with 3 or 4 watches in front of me. I looked at them and noticed the illegible numbers and so I knew I was dreaming. Immediately I tried viewing the object of my fantasy
Didn't work. That's all I remember. What a waste!
