      Talking sensing my alarm clock...(#2)

okay, so i set my alarm clock for ten minutes later than i usually wake up. i didn't sense it (atleast, not that i remember) , but in my dream we were sitting in the classroom and my class was singing "jingle bells" in really professional voices. i woke up, and it was really the song on the radio. it became part of my dream. (don't ask why they were playing jingle bells on wplj...) i'll put another post on monday to see if there are any changes in the way i wake up with my alarm clock. (of course, i turn my alarm clock off on the weekend)

LOL! I've had occasions where a song or a tv show that I heard while sleeping has become part of my dream as well.

I've experienced the same, except it was me singing in dream with a kick ass opera voice. Woke up and that song was playing on the radio. Wish it would happen more often, it's kind of fun.

No problem. Anytime you need a christmas song line you can ask me.

Actually I don't think I know any others than Jingle Bells really.

ive had a similair experiance. my alarm went off but instead of waking me up it just threw me into a new dream. my alarm goes BEEP BEEP BEPP.. BEEP BEPP BEEP... repetadly untill you turn it off. in my brief maybe one minute dream i was trying to run from the sound but of course i couldnt get away

Before I found this site, I controlled my dreams by having my computer play an audio file during REM. This is alot like the jingle bells thing exept you chose the topic you want.

actually, i have had for a long time the idea of using this kind of sound cue to induce lucidity... thats the same principle behind the NovaDreamer device (www.lucidity.com) except it uses a light cue in your eye instead of sound, and it only does that when it senses REM cycles with its eye sensor...

Here is the experiment i wish to conduct: im using hypnosis to set a sound cue as a trigger to lucidity. A beep or another such sound. Then i wake up, and set my Palm to play that beep after 45 minutes (the time i'll take to sleep back and enter a REM)... if everything goes well, the beep will trigger lucidity... i guess the main dificulty is adjusting the volume, but a little trial and error will do no harm

i'll post my results in a thread...

It took about a year for me to get my idea to work. I used sound cues like you said, but they were one syllable words. It works well but I've never gotten around to using it to become lucid. I just changed the topic of my dream.

devilkitty, perhaps you would have better results of you combine hypnosis suggestion to become lucid whenever you hear the syllabe or sound. Im working on such script right now and intend to start using it this week... i'll also post it for comments, and start a thread i'll link to in my sig... then we'll see how it goes...
