      Intelligence & Lucidity

Does intelligence make you have LDs faster? This is probably has nothing to do with it, but might as well ask.

I doubt it. I think how aware you are of your surrondings at any given moment may help more. seems to me that street smarts would help someone more, because you learn to be sensitive to your surrounding. someones walking behind you, you watch their shadow on the sidewalk for any sudden movements, watch their reflection in the windows of buildings etc... you tune into the enviornment. since the dream enviorment is weird, being hyper aware of it will help.

no evidence for this obviously, just an opinion. I dont think IQ plays a part in becoming lucid.

Yeah, I don't think intelligence has anything to do with it. I find it unlikely that a person who has graduated from university has any better chance at lucid dreaming than a high school drop out. As long as put effort into it that's all that matters.

      Do a reality check.

Well... someone who went to university isn't necessarily more intelligent than a high school drop out... I know a lot of idiots in university.
Regardless, they're are as many measures of intelligence as their are people, so I think it's mostly arbitrary - I do hope it's true though, because lucid dreams came pretty naturally to me.

I think more awareness is important.

I think instead of saying "intelligence", you should say "self awareness" or "introspect". I think I read somewhere that one defining difference between man and beast is the ability to think about thinking, to have a stronger sense of reality. When you understand what reality is, you can notice when reality is not.

I think theres a link but the other way around. LDs probably help with problem solving skills. At least, they seem to with me =)
