      anyone ever heard of this?

hey guys, this is my first post!
i don't really consider myself a noobie to LDing, seeing how i've sort of been experiencing lucid dreams all of my life.
i just recently, however, got into really understanding and ultimately controlling my dream world. i do have to say, it's one of the most amazing things i have ever really done. to be able to actually achieve the impossible and have it feel so real is just something i thought i would never be able to do. alright, enough babbling, here's my question:

today in my scheduled afternoon nap, i had an extremely vivid dream. i even remember asking myself, "is this a dream?" "yes i think i'm dreaming." i then proceeded to do the common self checks and whatnot... i looked at a digital clock and everything seemed normal. i believe i did some other things with no positive results... i just don't remember them specifically. i remember coming to the conclusion that i was in fact awake, and i was unable to become lucid. then i just wake up and i'm like SHIT, A WASTED OPPORTUNITY!

anyone every had this happen? where you basically do some reality checks and they convince you that you are in fact awake, when in reality, you are not.

thanks! (sorry for the long post)

You brain thinks up ways to rationalize the failing of an RC, or corrects the error. If you do a reality check that lasts too long your dream will change so that it fits your expectations.

wedontexist, I think everyone has experienced this at least once.
