      WILD's necessarily cause HI/SP?

Do WILDS always cause HI or SP?

My first lucid dream was a WILD, I believe. Actually, it would be cool if someone would clear this up for me. I followed BillyBob's WBTB method, and I figure it was supposed to give me a DILD because of all the reality checks and the mindset, so I just went to bed normally. However, I never lost consciouness until the dream ended. When I was just seeing black from the inside of my eyelids, I suddenly felt a weird shifty feeling and instantly knew I was dreaming before I opened my eyes, and then I opened them and I was in my room and I took it from there.

So I guess I have 2 questons.... The one at the top of this post and what kind of Lucid my first one was.

Thanks, and sorry for the rambly post

yup, those were my first two active-effort-put-into LDs, two days in a row. it's really cool, like there is no break in conciousness. it's a little hazy at some points but it's like, close eyes, get crazy trippy whooshing feelings and sounds, next thing you know you're dreaming and you see a bunch of random lights and colors, eventually takes shape into a dream.

i'm pretty sure what you described is a WILD

      and alexi rocks

      to answer your questions....

YES to both...but you may not know that you are going through them.

HI becomes dream...so it may happen so quickly you dont even know what it was...

SP is likely to occur...but some people 'feel' it more than others

(I am open to corrections..Im no expert)

You can WILD without experiencing sleep paralysis, and this may even be the norm as probably many people misinterpret other sensations as sleep paralysis or confuse hypnagogic hallucinations with sleep paralysis. But if you do experience sleep paralysis it's a pretty sure sign that REM onset will follow shortly.

People also get hypnagogic hallucinations to a lesser or greater extent. These hallucinations may be visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. The weird shifty feeling you describe was most likely a kinesthetic hallucination.

I had my first WILD last night, and all I felt was a sort of "shift." I became aware of basically nothing but the insides of my eyelids, and my eyes felt like they rolled back in my head a bit. Then I opened them and was in a dream. No vibrations, lights, weird images, anything. Which I was pretty pleased with, because I was slightly worried about Old Hag.

I simply got up and went out my door.

      Same here.

I rarely experience the cool sensations many others feel before they start dreaming.
