      Lightbulb -Digital Reality Checking-

      Hello Everyone!

I am kinda new here its like my second month being a part of this forum.
I have been keeping a DJ for about that long, I started it the day after I discovered Dreamviews. Since then, I have recorded many dreams and my recall has greatly improved since I first started. I have learned A LOT of this subject of Lucid Dreaming in the past two months, its incredible. aha. I think that is because it's so unlike any other topic, I just want to know more and more.

Before I get to the purpose I will say that I just had my first lucid dream 2 days ago. It only lasted a few moments before my alarm clock struck 7 AM. But after that experience I am glad to say my commitment and DJ has paid off. And that is just the beginning. My Lucid dream was induced by me jumping in my dream and then realizing (after I did not come back down) "HOLY SHIT IM DREAMING!" My encounter was my first lucid dream, as well as encounter with any sort of out of body experience. This is because after I realized I was dreaming, and I was still stuck in the air. I felt my body become overwhelmed with a feeling of raw energy that I can't explain. I heard very loud buzzing noises which I have read up to be common OBE signs. After that I felt like I was being slammed back into my body. It was the greatest/ most different experience I have ever had. I know that the majority of the people on this forum have had experiences with LD's, but this may be for the new people who may not have experienced it yet but CANNOT WAIT to experience such a thrill.

      DIGITAL REALITY CHECKING

Reality checking is simply questioning your self, about whether you are dreaming or not. You may do this whenever you'd like.
A GREAT WAY TO TRAIN YOUR MIND to perform Reality checks on its own (whilst you are sleeping) is to train it. The best way to do this is to buy a digital watch for 10 dollars and wear it religiously. Every hour when it chimes,
you can perform all, or some of the following great RC's that will help induce lucidity once dreaming.

      WHEN WATCH CHIMES

Glance at your hands. Really look at them, and notice what they look like. Because when you are dreaming they will look very different. Sometimes you may have more than 5 fingers to a hand
Once you make the connection that you are not dreaming, tell yourself
"I am not dreaming because my hands are normal."
You have to make the connection, because simply looking at your hands does not induce Lucid Dreams. Your mind has to know the difference. This goes for any reality check, DO NOT HALF ASS IT! Put thought into your RC's.

Look at your watch, turn away and then look back at the watch. If the time is the same, then you are not dreaming. If it is 5 hours earlier than the first time you checked you ARE DREAMING! Again, you must really make the connection.

Plug your nose, and try to breathe through it. This is a great RC. Basically, what you do is just plug your nose and try to breathe in through it and realize you cannot because you are not dreaming. In a dream, when you plug your nose you can STILL breathe through it.

JUMP!! :yumdumdoodledum:My first lucid dream was induced by jumping. I did it in my dream, and when I never fell back down I realized it was a dream. So a good RC would be to Jump normally, thinking that you WILL NOT come back down. And when you do, make the connection. the connection is that you aren't dreaming.

Using the hourly chime on a watch has many benefits. After a while of doing it, it creates a mental clock in your head that automatically does it on its own. (Hopefully in a dream) This is like if you drive a lot, you probably have many dreams where you are driving. That is the point of the RC. The digital watch chime can also help induce LD's while asleep also. After your mind has heard that chime a few hundred times, and you hear it in your sleep, you may perform an RC in your dream as well.
There are many other reality checks you can perform to help train your mind, but these few are my favorites. If you think RC's work well for you, but you dont have a digital watch, I say GET ONE TODAY!
Because my watch is only a few days old itself, Im still working on my mental clock as well. I will post back WHEN I have some LD's induced my RC's I perform every hour.

I hope this may have inspired some to utilize the power of a digital watch, and get PUMPED for lucid dreaming!
