When I was checking my email, I stumbled upon an email saying "Someone has invited you to Luciddreaming.com" so I wondered what it was. So far I'v privated messaged Vex Kitten and Burns but by the sounds of it. It's still a bit unknown.

Anyone heard of Luciddreaming.com? You have to be over 18 to register.

They probably know this is the main Lucid dreaming site and the best place to obtain new members.

This could be a new rivalry in the making.

No lucid dreaming website will ever be better than Dreamviews in my opinion.

They actually have a link to the dreamviews mainsite. I never have liked having to sign up before being able to fully explore a site though.

I got this too. Since the email was so moronic, I replied to it :-). Apparently the admin is going to change this welcome message so it actually says who tried to invite you, instead of just saying "Someone". Since he wasn't actually willing to find out who had invited me, I left in my Spam folder. And let him now this was to his disadvantage, since it'll increase the probability it gets flagged as spam for other Gmail users.

Let us know if theres anything sufficient to counteract such a bad initial impression :-). In particular if the admin fixes the welcome messages I'll have another look. It's not helped by the ad density.

OTOH I'm sure its nice to have a forum on the same site people can buy LD products from.

Hmm. Actually, I can look up the email addresses for the other people the mail was CC'd to. I'll try that.

The email I got had the name of the person who invited me in it.

As for what it's like, the forum structure is a lot like it is here. And it looks really, really new. There are barely any posts.

I thought I recognized the URL. Some guy with only a few posts came on here blatantly linking to that site. They were something like "I just joined, found other useful information on luciddreaming.com" or "I'm posting my dream on luciddreaming.com now, go read it".

wow this place is like an exact copy of dv. They even have a sensless banter. Though it is very new. the main page says they have over 1000 members but the forum says they have 86.

I see a lot of copies of DV and snippets of other LDing info i've seen at various sites. I'm not impressed, but i do have to give them this credit: they're a new site just starting out and trying to spread the message of lucid dreaming. As lucid dreamers, we really all should be a community, no matter from where/what website.

Except for LD4all. THE ATTACK STARTS SOON!

Just kidding.

So yes, i do believe they're copying off other sites, including DV. But everyone has to start somewhere, and hopefully if that forum does start kicking off then they'll figure out shit on their own (including originality). Really, i wish them luck. As long as they stop copying..

they dont even have enough people for 2 staff members XD if all us dv experts went over there and caused havoc. . . think of the hours of work it would take to undo it

that oughta teach em for sending spam emails
