      Afraid to WILD lol

I dunno why, ever since I read about WILD, i've been terrified.

The thought of all those vibrations, sinky feelings, numb body, etc. scares the crap outta me

Does anyone else have this problem? Anyone used to?

I do, that's usually why I've had most of my LD's by already being inside a dream and realizing it.

I hate that sinking away feeling, it feels like you're dying or something. Every time I feel that, I try to pull myself out of it. Of course, I've pulled myself into a lucid dream before by doing that. So I guess you don't have to go all the way in.

You see, I have no idea what these feelings are like, I'm just afraid to have them

There's nothing to worry about. Almost all of this feelings are very nice, or interesting, so it's cool bonus to WILD - just watch what is happening when your body falling a sleep.

      And...

... nobody died from this feelings and WILD (at least for today )

      Hehe, thank god nobody died

I'm just afraid to feel these sensations.

I guess the only way for me to know how harmless they are, is to try it

Seriously, this feelings aren't bad or harmfull. Vibrations are fun, hipnagogic visions are fantastic and almost like a dream, some other things are nice too - only sleep paralysis (?) is sometimes not funny, but You will use to it...

Just try it and You will see how great are this feelings. Don't scare some noises, voices or music - this is projection of your brain so it can't do anything to you :p

      yo!

I always get this freaky feeling of shrinking in 1000 miles per hour, and my head gets really hot. I never actually wilded, just 2 times but both times i actually "wasnt there" the whole time. Just suddently remembered that i was trying to wild and was outside.

Fear for WILDing eh? Nah never came across that, I've always been more fearful of being trapped in a bad dream. I'm telling you though, there's absolutely nothing to be afraid of, as far as dreaming (and most things) goes fear will just hold you back. So keep it together, just let the sensations flow over you; it's pretty relaxing, I've never had a bad experience with it and i doubt you will.
The journey is usually more rewarding than reaching the destination.

Don't think of it as a scary unknown, think of it as your gateway to lucidity! It's not an unknown, because you know it doesn't hurt you, and you know you'll be rewarded with a dream! Remember, true sleep paralysis is quick, lasting a minute or so. Don't fret!

Mine is never scary. I feel a cool impulse from the base of my neck, and then my body vibrates for a bit in a gentle, calm rhythm. Suddenly I can't feel anything at all but a fuzzy warmth, and then instantly either a sound or flicker of an image brings forth a dream. I've never had an urge to move while in SP.

Ok, I took what most of you guys said into account, and tried to WILD last night, er.. this morning.

I was awake for most of the night (I was EXTREMELY warm!) and eventually fell asleep. Then woke up a few hours later. I thought, this is the perfect time for a MILD!! But, I tried a WILD instead.

      I did the breathing method, "1, I'm dreaming. 2, I'm dreaming, etc."

I was skeptical at that point because I thought if I blinked, I'd ruin it, but I kept going on.

I got up to about 98-99 breaths, and my vision changed slightly, and I felt like my body was falling

I got frightened and pulled myself out of it

      Sorry

Well, I can tell you about one thing. The vibrations aren't scary, they're maddening. When they're as far as you can get when trying to WILD that is.

      I'm so frustrated.
In dreams of unspeakable joy—of restored friendships; of revived embraces; of love which said it had never died; of faces that had vanished long ago, yet said with smiling lips that they knew nothing of the grave; of pardons implored, and granted with such bursting floods of love, that I was almost glad I had sinned—thus I passed through this wondrous twilight. —George MacDonald

I'm not at a point where I would try WILD yet, but I know what you mean. I think about it and think it'll just be too bizarre and I'll freak out or something.

At first I used to get scared with the weird feelings but I'm starting to enjoy them. A couple of nights ago I reached a state where I was completely relaxed and my mind was "as clear and serene as an unmuddied lake. As clear as an azure sky of deepest summer" (I'm sorry, I had to quote that, I just finished reading A Clockwork Orange and liked it a lot).

I kind of felt like I had no body and my consciousness was simply a particle of the universe.
My new lucid dreaming blog. It has a very pretty background!

well there isnt any need to fear it it happens every single night. You just are unconscious during it. Why fear something that happens to you every single time you go to sleep?

Just remember it can't harm you. It might not even be that bad for you, some people just get buzzing nosies in their head. (and the numbness of course)
