WILD - Getting past the first obstacle?

      Check here:

      http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...3&postcount=10

Ok, I took what most of you guys said into account, and tried to WILD last night, er.. this morning.

I was awake for most of the night (I was EXTREMELY warm!) and eventually fell asleep. Then woke up a few hours later. I thought, this is the perfect time for a MILD!! But, I tried a WILD instead.

      I did the breathing method, "1, I'm dreaming. 2, I'm dreaming, etc."

I was skeptical at that point because I thought if I blinked, I'd ruin it, but I kept going on.

I got up to about 98-99 breaths, and my vision changed slightly, and I felt like my body was falling, and sinking deep into the mattress, as if it was made of melted butter.

I got frightened and pulled myself out of it
I had this feeling, but got the crap scared outta me, so I pulled out. Was I close to SP/WILD?

Does anyone know an easy way to ride this out?

      Thanks

The falling sensation is quite normal, try not to get scared as this seems to happen on every WILD method, try to ignore it, also avoid excitation at all costs, as it's one of the easiest ways of waking up.

yeah the falling sensation is normaland it means your close (at least for me anyway). and when it happens dont become excited or anything cause that will push you out of it.

Exactly, I tried to WBTB + WILD this night but failed because of excitation (I had two lucid dreams anyway), this is where relaxation methods come in handy.

For some reason when I'm close to lucidity or am lucid, it's always around 9-10am in the morning lol!

I get that feeling too but I've only tried to wild like 3 times and when I started to feel like I was falling I got really excited and woke up

Lol yeah, I can't seem to be able to lucid dream until it's around 7:00 AM, and I wake up daily at 8:00 AM.

I've been really close to WILDing, twice, but I wake up every time because of excitation, this sucks, I've had a DILD when I fall asleep every time this happens though.

Keep trying, this way you will get accustomed to the feeling and you'll eventually ignore it.

No, you should say "I will have a lucid dream tomorrow morning", or "I will know that I'm dreaming the next time I dream".

      Smile

      hey hey guys,

i'm new to all this but am absolutely fascinated by it - not that i'm proud of it but i inadvertantly spent most of my childhood lucid dreaming while intoxicated by glue - as a child i had no quarms about knowing i was dreaming and i had many experiences of control which i absolutely loved obviuolsly!

i've done lots of the things mentioned - falling/landing glently/floating like a leaf/waking up but only in the dream and loads more.
i spent many years 'watching' my body fall asleep - generally, the eyes start following a dot slowly the it speeds up left to right and the eyes are following it by themselves (obviuosly the sub concious is really doing it!), then patterns and colours start happening then they get more real like until they're actual stuff.
i had plenty of experiences where my mind had little beings, a bit like the numbskulls out the beano, excpet they worked as a big team to keep my mind working - once i was asleep they performed acts for me on a stage that was where i would be looking if i was awake ie in front of my eyes but it was massive - with very vivid detail and amazingly bright colours.
i'm staying well clear of the drug trigger now but i'd love to be able to have lucid dreaming again - now i know its possible naturally i'm going to start trying - i KNOW i have the ability to do it lol.
what do WILD and DILD mean?

      here's hopefully to happy dreaming....

I don't focus at all on how my body feels. Everytime I do that I end up waking myself up or not falling asleep.

I always focus on images until they get vivid enough and then I just sort of "walk" into the dream. However, for the first 10 minutes I have to mainly observe so that I don't wake up. If I try to interact too much in the beginning everything goes black and I usually wake up.

Wild and dild are acronyms; Wild is Wake Initiated Lucid Dream; basically "watching yourself fall asleep" like you've done. Dild is Dream Initiated Lucid Dream, where you're dreaming and you realize you're dreaming. Check the tutorial section for details. You sound like you've got a start on Wild.

I tried again this morning, but my brother came into my room each time.

      I felt like slapping him

      thanks guys

i tried last night but my boyfriend wasn't settling and kept disturbing me lol

i like the analogy of watching then walking into the dream once its ready - thats exactly how i remember it

i spent lots of time 'watching' - i really like the randomness and am just fascinated by the minds ability to influence what we see - it really is so 'real'!

      i'll keep on trying...

Ok, tried it again this morning alongside with the counting method.

I got to about 340 breaths.

      One question

How do I clear my mind?

About 100000000 thoughts enter my head when I try it, and I eventually either doze off or forget the number

I tried this last night, but the weird thing is, as I understand you are supposed to go to sleep, then wake up, then do your techniques. I just went to bed, felt tired, then closed my eyes and focused on the blackness, trying to see images and stuff. Then my body started to feel like it was disappearing, melting w/e and i freaked out since it was my first time.

If i just keep at it for a longer period of time, melting or whatever, will i just snap into a dream or lucidity?
