      Exclamation Lucid dreaming?

I was just made aware of lucid dreaming yesterday=noob, and ive been thinking of past dreams. In some dreams i kind of know that im dreaming but it always seems like i cant free roam.

For example im being chased by a crowd of people and im pretty frightened, in most cases i will tell my self in my dream to wake up knowing that i am in a dream. Other times i will tell myself to wake up but i cant wake up so i continue with the dream until i try later when it will eventually work

Also its only at the point of where i want to get out of the dream is when i become aware that i am indeed dreaming and can wake myself up. And the dreams are somewhat vivid but almost seen as in third person. kind of hard to explain

It seems to be lucid but in the dreams i wasnt able to do what i wanted and go where i wanted, i kind of just had to go with the flow of the dream.

Could this be because i wasnt aware that i could do that stuff or is it just a non-lucid dream?

      Hope this makes sense

Belive me Desa, I know the feeling. I've had my share of dreams like that.

First, I'm going to address your third person thing. I used to have TONS of dreams like that. When you have a lucid dream, you can change your perspective by spinning (spin and keep thinking that you'll start seeing the dream in first person), or by just telling yourself to see through your own eyes. I prefer to spin.

Now on to when you become aware in your dream. The only real advice I can offer is to try and realize that when you're running away and trying to wake up, stop and think, "Wait, if I can wake up, then that means I'm dreaming." Then do a reality check to prove this, et voila, a lucid dream. When I've been in your situation, that has always helped me.

Best of luck to you, if you have any questions, feel free to PM me. : D
