      same places

I visit the same places in dreams that are only in my dreams, like In alot of my dreams my parents live in a different house, but it's been in 10+ of my dreams....I wonder about alternate realities, and choice....

What if you had lived there in a previous life? I sometimes have recurring places in my dreams as well, like you, where I am in a house that is supposed to be our house and I know my way around, but I have never lived there. Just an interesting hypothesis for those who believe in reincarnation...

I've thought of that idea, or the idea of an alternate reality...Like the idea that every decisision shapes your future. What if say your parents choose to raise you in another town? Your friends would be different and experiences, and for adults it's simply a choice of a house, but for children it's the school they go to and friends they make and enevitably their future.

Yes, I often wonder what it would've been like to grow up somewhere else...someplace more like me...I can clearly tell I'm out of place and I feel strongly compelled to be somewhere else. You can never grow up again, and I just have to question whether I've lost precious time or not...

does it matter? it's in the past.

In some ways I feel it doesn't really matter where you live. some people whine that they don't meet many people and claim it is becuase their town or city is lame, then they move to a different city and found out that it is not different, becuase they are the ones that are lame...

      I have to.

If the past is useless then all that you are means nothing.

      Its important, it really is.
Were it not for the past I would have no knowledge of science and spirituality, I would have no friends, never have loved it would be like starting over constantly never growing never changing and if ya ask me that existance would be pointless.

The thing is, you must remember the past, not dwell on it.
The past is memory the future is hope, only now exists.
The fact that we can remember past and hope and dream about the furture is an amazing thing in itself...

      His wrath undoes the wicked."

      Creating dreams...

Does anyone think we will ever be able to have something/technology that will be able to put us in a dream? Where we control our dreamstate?
I dream everynight and remember everyone

      I agree with you, Seri.

It's not that I dwell, I'm just a curious person.

Just as Seri said: The past is memory the future is hope, only now exists. So tell me this, if you don't think about the future or the past, what is there to think about?...the present is ever-fleeting...

      Oh, duh...welcome, Euphoria!

EDIT: ohmygod...how long have I been a novice?.. ..Yay!

      Euphoria, welcome!

I think we might one day have devices like that, they are close now to interfacing the brain and technology directly, they have grown neurons onto a microchip and managed to interface the two, its very basic and such but its a start.

Having a curiosity of the past is a good thing, we can learn of the future from it...

      However... Now is another story...

Each of us exists only now, were we to focus our thoughts completely on now, we would have lucidity in ourselves and our surroundings it would be at the cost of not knowing the past or the future though I think...

Perhaps thats what those old guys up on the mountain tops are working at?

      Now.

      Welcome Euphoria,

Seri, I remember a fact from one of my people skills courses that is really kind of neat.

The author was stating that on the average, people only spend about 10% focused on NOW. We spend the rest of the time either imagining the future or remembering the past.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Hum, never quite thought of it like that...

But it's not quite history that can goto hell, it's more of the class.

Yeah, like when you get ahold of a U.K. history book and compare them with the U.S.. It's almost funny.
