      nitemares to my advantage!!!

      hey all.
when i was younger, i used to be very afriad of nitemares. but then i "taught myself" a little secret on how to wake up when i wanted 2. i would "roll" my eyes up and somewhat into my head in the dream, and then if i kept doing it, i could feel my self waking up. first i'd go into a 1/2 dream 1/2 awake state, and i'd say to myself, "come on! almost awake!" and then i'd wake up. i could feel being pulled out of the dream. i could/would only do this if i were having a nitemare though. say a big shadowy man would be chassing me with a gun with a knife on the end, and i would REALLY be pannicing. and i'd also feel a really bad feeling in my stomach. then i'd awaken myself. so i guesh i could've been lucid.

BUT NOW I HAVE A PLAN!!!

i've been thinking about this plan and it should give me a LD. i've found that EVERY SINGLE TIME i eat something spicy before bed, i have a nitemare. nitemares are also supposed to be a VERY good way of becumming Lucid. well i'm going to use this knoweledge to my advantege along with the theory that i can still "awaken" my self from a dream. i'm going to have a nitemare and start to "awaken" from my dream. but hopefully, sometime during this process, i will become lucid.

      what do u all think!?

That's kind of complicated more than it should be actually. well that's what i think. why dont u just you use nightmares are your dreamsign? when you have a nightmare, yuo do a reality check, then BAM you're lucid.

If you do that "awaken" thing in a nightmare, then you must realize that it's a dream before you even do it right? when you feel like doing that "awaken" thing, just dont do it, try to take control of the dream. kill the bad guy, or just make him dissappear, change the dream setting. you can do what you want, but it seems kind of unreliable to me because you are taking the risk of completely waking up.

anyway what you're doing is a great way of getting OBE's i think..hope that helps

to induce nightmares, i just say go out to blockbuster and rent out all the scary movies and the spices to if you want

and then say that phrase to yourself when you're going to sleep.

      Try the WBTB Method

Knuckles, refer to my links in my signature for the WBTB method. It works well.

      Good Luck.

      Recently I started taking 5-HTP.
Supposed to give me more serotonin

Dont know why, but some of my dreams turn nightmarish. Bad thing is - they are pretty unpleasant (like ghosts/spirits/hostile beings clawing and ripping me apart and so on).

Well, even as pretty experienced Lucid dreamer, I cant take control.

Last time I was hiding in some room, afraid to breathe, listening as ghosts/spirits/demons rip some guys apart :/

not very much fun.... Proceed with caution

      O_o

have you tried going into a different dream setting. If the nightmares are that bad then i guess waking up is your only option

Thing is - that's non lucid dreams, so I cant change setting easily. In that dream, I went to a different floor, and sent a bunch of bad guys to teh demons, as a result, I survived, and they died, but it was very scary

Another thing is - I'm seeing normal dreams, and at some point, those hostile forces appear. I can easily combat anything while lucid, but in a normal dream my abilities are very limited :/
