I have been reading these forums almost every day since joining. I have really gotten back into dreaming, I can now remember 2 or 3 a night and I had my first lucid dream in months the other night. Anyway, I love reading most of the topics/threads here, except when people claim to know what dreams are. "They all are in your head", "A movie in your head", etc.. I don't know about others here, but I feel very connected with life while dreaming/lucid dreaming. I think its probably a little deeper than your brain working on your day's frustrations, a little more involved than just electrical messages in your head. No, I don't know what exactly dreaming is, but I am keeping an open mind. Dreaming is very much related to shamanistic work and astral projection and out of body experiences. Are we gonna lump all of these into a category and say there's nothing more than electrical impulses at play? Anyone on a spiritual path here knows that the more thought that is given to our existence here, the more strange and amazing the world and life becomes. We are conditioned to believe of the concrete-ness of this world, but if you apply any amount of questioning (a constant interrogation of "why's" perhaps), this life is much more multi-dimensional than people can even grasp. What if dreaming isn't really "dreaming" at all, but visits to other existences, other worlds where our minds are needed at the moment? What if we are actually gods on some level, creating entire scenarios and existences and experiences while we sleep? I am not arguing that any of these are correct, but rather to keep an open mind. If anything, dreams serve to remind us of the transient nature of our lives and how much true potential each of us really embodies. |
