      Tricked by audio

Hi, im new to the forum, not to lucid dreaming but I stumbled upon this site looking up some stuff after some real lucid dreams last night.
I also experienced something strange, which I recall having had before, but never seen mentioned anywhere about lucid dreaming.
      Here's the story.

Last night my girlfriend went out to a party, while I stayed at home. Usually I dream more vividly when sleeping alone. At a certain point a had a 'false awakening' and I immediatly became lucid because my appartment looked different. The general construction and colors were correct, but some stairs and furniture was all wrong. Anyway, it was already strange how this conscious dream started off immediatly with waking up in my bed.
Then I came to realise it was music that 'woke' me up. I got a bit pissed off and looked down onto the living room (I live in a 'loft' like appartment)
and realized my girlfriend had taken some of our friends back from the party to afterparty here, with the music turned up pretty high. However as I was about to say 'guys, im sleeping here' I realised again that I was dreaming, by thinking 'that's right, the appartment is distorted'. But then I listened to the music, and the composition and sound was so perfect and bright, it just had to be real music! It wasn't an excisting song, but the quality was far to great to be 'dream-composed'. Then I realized remembering that sometimes sounds from the real world penetrate your dreams and influence them. So I thought 'I have to wake up and kick these guys out of my house, I want to sleep'. That's when I tried to deliberatly wake up, something pretty hard for me, but I've done it quite a few times. I closed my eyes and concentrated really hard on waking up, a strange feeling in that buffer zone between a dreaming and waking state. It worked and I woke up, only to realise the appartment was pitch black, there was nobody there and there was definitly no music on!

Maybe this is a bit too long and boring for others to read, but I mostly seek confirmation that sometimes audio can be more reality convincing than images.

      Comments are very welcome!

Welcome to Dreamviews! I sleep with a radio on the local jazz station, so I can pick up on the music in my dreams in the background. However, some nights when I leave it in the garage or bathroom (I get really paranoid in the shower), I notice that I can still hear music, though not necessarily jazz in my dream. Most of the time its some type of hard tech or trance, but it still comes in clear like the jazz from the radio does.

I do rec elect there being times where I had music in my dreams that sounded like it was 4 kbps, so maybe its just a sort of right time right place deal for good music in dreams, I dunno.
