      Alarm or no alarm

Pertaining to WILDs(WBTB), wouldn't waking up naturally after a dream be harder to go into a WILD than waking up with an alarm, because you have, most likely, just finished a session of REM

It can go either way, I suppose. Some people have success with drinking a big glass of water, and doing a WBTB when they have to get up to use the bathroom. And if you're already a lucid dreamer, you can wake yourself up in the dream to do a WILD.

Yeah, like many aspects with lucid dreaming its all personal preference, before I trained myself too wake up after my dreams, I used an alarm. The only thing with alarms is if it goes on too long you cant DEILD, which tends to be an easy way to lucid dream.
      WILDs - 38
      MILD/DILDs - 44
      VILDs - 8
TILDs - 1 (Thirst Induced Lucid Dream, never going through that experience again...)
Total: 98 - So close to the big 100

mr. me, I would much rather wake up without an alarm as it's less jarring. I also find that waking up naturally usually means that I just finished having a dream and therefore one REM period has just ended.

But wouldn't you want to wake up during a REM cycle so you could easily slip into that same REM cycle

Not necessarily since each subsequent REM cycle gets longer as the night wears on.
