New to the site....but not to dreaming

      Hi All!

Like to introduce myself to everybody. My name is Kurt and I have been dreaming and able to recall my dreams for at least 10-15 years. This is not a topic I readily discuss with many people, as I'm sure you know many people are highly dismissive of those of us who have this ability. Within the last year or two, I have begun to keep a dream journal, as I dream quite frequently. Usually 4-5 times a week, often having 2-3 dreams a nite. One of the first times I recall being able to control my dreams was when I was young. I recall being on a road and thinking to myself that I was in a dream. I always wanted to fly, so I simpy began to flap my arms and instantly I lifted off into the air!

I have began to read any info I can find about lucid dreaming and dream recall. Almost all that I have read states you should wake up to recall your dreams. However, I have found that I do not wake up, yet I am able to recall nearly all the details of my dreams, usually within an hour or two upon waking up. My question is, does anyone else experience this?

I look forward to posting my dreams and experiences here! Thanks for the site and message board!

      Kurt

      to DreamViews, Kurt!

You are lucky that recall comes so easily to us. A lot uf (myself included) have to do some work to remember our dreams as well.

You are a natural lucid dreamer too!

I hope you have fun here! There is a dream journal section if you would like to start putting some of your dreams in there for others to read.

I don't wake up to recall my dreams either. I sleep through the night and when I wake up they either come rushing back and I have to scribble like mad to jot them down, or after a few moments they will slowly return with things triggering further recall during the day if I'm lucky.

Waking up repeatedly through the night makes me forget most dreams. It's happened alot lately as I've been rudely awakened many times a night for the past month or so. My recall has suffered drastically. When I do sleep through the night I remember at least 4 - 5 dreams.
