So:

Person 1: Finger through palm.
Person 2: Nose RC.
Either/Both: Say, "Sweet Dreams"

Somebody make a youTube video.

So do we just do the finger-palm thing randomly and hope that someone will reply with a nose RC, or do we do the signal when we see someone doing an RC?

Facebook Group: The Dreamer's Salute

Reality Checking... its the signature of a lucid dreamer. Many have tried to be discreet when reality checking, to avoid the eye of curious on-lookers. But being a Dreamer shouldn't be kept a secret. We are Dreamers, and we are many, and from this point on we're going to let the world know.

When you see a Dreamer, give them the salute. When reality checking in public, don't try to hide it. If someone gives you the salute, or you see someone reality checking, return the salute.

When greeting a Dreamer:
-Finger-through-Palm Reality Check
-Give a slight nod of the head.
-Greet with the words "Sweet Dreams"

When returning a salute:
-You may return with another FTP-RC
-Alternatively, you may do a Pinch-The-Nose Reality Check
-Again with a nod as well as returning the words "Sweet Dreams"

Sweet.

I'm going to have this happen in a dream and get so excited, only to find out that I'm dreaming. Can't complain, though.

hahaha i did something similar to that today. I was in my science class and realized my friend was acting odd, so I did an RC by trying to run through the teachers desk when I turned in my test needless to say I knocked it over and mad my teacher QUITE mad lol

lol i was going to type a completly differant post on how this would look too weird but i was wrong and your all right, this is the perfect dreamer signal. will other people really notice this though? its gonna be hard to get it out there.

hahaha well i'll do the best I can!

We'd have to initially get it posted on dreaming forums. LD4all and here could have global announcements on the forums showing the signs. Then, people would do it and it would spread both information about lucid dreaming and inform more dreamers about the sign. (If you actually do encounter an oneironaut. )

see i ran into you again stephent91!!! anyways, i've decked out my myspace with te LD hand signal, and hopefully someone there will understand it! until then i will continue to do it in every reality check i make!

Hurra! Start spreading the word! I was figuring, there are lots of people making a profit by making pay-to-read LD'ing guides. I bet if we asked them to put something about this in their guides, all the new LD'ers would be tought the solute from the start! I am starting on that if other people want to try it out.

EDIT: Hey... why doesn't somone add this to wikipedia? PLENTY of people read THAT every day!
