All these years I have been "lucid dreaming" and I thought that it was natural and that everybody did it. Much to my chagrin, I was talking to some co-workers and discovered that this is not the case. They even looked at me strange and the topic shifted abruptly. How odd. Anyway I googled and here I am. I am amazed that people find this difficult to do, and equally amazed there is a forum for it (I assumed it to be mundane).

For those that are trying to do it for the first time, perhaps some of my experience might help. If I am totally exhausted and super tired, there is no way I am able to slip into a lucid state. My brain & body are too busy reparing and cataloging the days activities to be bothered.

I have noticed that I automatically go into a lucid state when I am not very tired and I take a nap. Also, any flying, falling, or can't run dream will immediately trigger the "Oh, yea, I am dreaming" state that allows me to take over. These tend to come after watching a superman movie, a horror movie, etc. Any dream, where I am in immediate danger triggers the lucid dreaming process and I take over giving my self super human powers and take the dream in another direction.

Anyway, my 2 cents... nice to meet you all.
