      I don't want anymore LDs!!!!!!!!

Okay. I had a LD like 2 hours after I fell asleep (which is a weird time, duncha think?), and it started with a FA. I woke up in my room and everything was so real!!! I did a RC anyway, just to humor myself, and was shocked to realize it was a dream. I kept doing RCs over and over and over again, just to be sure!

I was also so incredibly conscious.. usually in LDs, I'm just like, "Wheee, flying!!" But this time I just sat there, thinking.. so I focused on my hands to prolong the dream, but that wasn't even necessary because I could feel that this one was going to be very hard to get out of.

And I had ZERO CONTROL. This hasn't happened to me since I was like 10 yrs old!!! Anyway, I tried to fly out the window, but it was all too damn real.. so I had to walk downstairs and out the door to get outside. I could feel the rain as it fell on me and I could feel the wet grass beneath my feet. I tried flying again, but only succeeded in jumping up and down, like in real life.

Okay, I eventually woke up.. but this dream was TOO real, and I was so nervous throughout the entire thing! I was planning on doing the WBTB method this morning as well, but I decided not to because I didn't want another LD!

Has this happened to anyone? I'd appreciate some input.

I've definately been in dreams to real to be a dream, but the RC's are all I need to turn it into a good LD. WHy did it bother you? THats what Im usualy going for. The clearest, realest, LD's are the best.

yeah, same here. I like to aim for the realest and clearest dreams. Those are the best but they are rare for me. Its sad that you were pretty scared. I thought you would be so fascinated by how real it felt. In my dream every single thing vibrating with bright colors. I loved it

I dont really suggest flying in those kind of dreams especially. try simpler, more reliable things.

Yah see I don't know why I was nervous! I was definitely amazed that I could achieve this kind of LD, but.. I don't know.. I guess the lack of control was what got to me. I kept worrying that something bad was going to happen, and that I wouldn't be able to stop it. Hehe, I was so glad to wake up and be back in the more reliable real world.

But.. I'm cured now. I take it back, I do want more LDs.

      Het Scwigglie,

How do you do an rc successfully when the dream appears to be real?

      Thanks

If I was incredibly concious in a dream, I'd focus and be able to fly easier. If you couldn't fly no matter what. Just make the dream EXTREMELY clear and make yourself EXTREMELY CONCIOUS. I think that would be a better start than flying. If it was that real I'd do simple things, as nightowl said, such as exploring or getting a sandwich (or eat fricken HUGE amounts of sandwiches, sushi, soft ice cream and what ever else I want without getting fat or full.

      I don't want anymore LDs!!!!!![/b]
Don't ever say that, this is one of those things that the saying "be careful what you wish for, it might come true" applies.

FaatFaat, I just trained myself to do a RC when I wake up in real life, no matter what. So I guess the fact that it was so life-like made it even easier to do a RC in the dream.

Gah, thanks Wasup, now I'm gonna be paranoid that I'll never have another LD! lol I took it back, though, later on. *prays* I hope that evens it out.

Few days ago almost exact thing happened to me.
I woke up, went to the bathroom, and returned to my room. At this point I noticed that *all* digital clocks (there were like 5 of them for some reason ) were blacked out.
"holy shit! I'm dreaming!" I had to perform a lot of RCs to be sure it's a dream. Just as you did, I watched my hands, and there were minor differences between dream and reality.

At this point I experiencing the same "Incredibly conscious" feeling you described. it was more clear and real then "reality". I had no such dreams for months.

So I decided to get outside my room through a window. Ha! not so easy. Usually I slip through a window without a slightest effort, but this time it was solid.
For a second I was confused, but decided to use *willpower* and sure enough I could break the window.

Next, I went outside. And again, incredible coincidence - I could feel surroundings with my body! (it was chilly and there was melting snow) It was like the 2nd time I felt something similar in a dream....

My dream continues quite differently tho - I had almost unlimited control and it was incredibly easy...
It might have been caused by "initial test". First thing you do in a dream. if you successfully control it, you belive you have control. if you fail, your mind decides otherwise...

IMO, there's different level of control involved in such dreams. Because you belive it's reality, normal LDing techniques dont work(that is expecting something to work). In my case, I combined expectations with a good amount of will, as a result there was *a lot* of control...

Wow Ev, that's pretty cool! I guess I should have just broken through the window like you did. I'll definitely do that next time.. who needs walking, anyway?? lol

If you don't have much or any control sometimes just say to yourself and belive it "LOOK! I'm flying!" or something like that....and imagine yourself flying..xD..It works for me sometimes.

Ooh you never know though.. many of my FAs have seemed so normal that I closed my eyes again and drifted back to sleep, not realizing I was in a dream already.

I know I never have false awakenings. Any time I wake up, I'm in my bed at home and things are normal. I've never been in my own home because my own home in a dream is always some other place than IRL. Maybe I'm just wierd, though.

EDIT: Re-read your post....actually, that sounds kind of interesting. I always have that feeling of RL heaviness when I wake up temporarily...but I've to check.
