Not lucid, but telling all the DC's I am..

I woke up on the morning of August 4th, 2010 at around 9 o'clock. Head fuzzy from a crazy night, I fell back asleep almost immediately. The following is what I dreamt.

      8.4.10
Working at Greystone (the pool), people were swimming and it was dark. One fat lady fell off the side of the pool and hit her neck, and I had to save her.

Surf contest at UNCW, Connor participating. Spoke with Mr. and Mrs. Deal. Jumbotron with all the competitors faces on it, in a continuous video loop. Not at the beach, but at a big wave pool. Didn't see any waves.

House/small hotel building. Lots of DCs around. I was telling some of them that I was lucid and that this was all a dream. I wasn't lucid, not like my first LD where I had limited control and everything was crystal clear. But this time I still knew I was dreaming. Not by any dream signs or reality checks though. I was shooting energy out of my hands at DC's, because they were after me.. They were after me because there was a strange, attractive girl that I was trying to coax into sleeping with me. I kept telling her, "this is a dream, I'm lucid dreaming!" But to no avail.

Dream signs missed: random, strange, attractive girl; trying to argue my way out of/into something

I'm not sure what you mean. You were lucid, but then you said you really weren't. I assume you think you wasn't lucid because the clarity wasn't that good, but in my opinion you were. That happens bro, sometimes lucid aren't as clear as others.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

Interesting. I guess that makes sense. So I need to improve recall. Is recall separate from focusing on the dream itself? For example, if I'm lucid, but just doing random stuff within the dream, I'm not really focused on any specific task that will help me remember the dream. So if I focus more on goals, will my recall improve (in addition to keeping a journal, etc.)?
