      Exclamation Add/adhd

I was recently diagnosed with ADD, I was wondering ...Would this influence my ability to have a lucid dream in any way?

Dezmond, I don't have ADHD tho my son was diagnosed with it and eventually learned to deal with it without medication.

He isn't into lucid dreaming so I couldn't ask him but I did a search and found a few past threads on the subject:

Hopefully you will receive additional replies to this posting. If not, you could always PM one of the members in these threads and see if they have any advice for you.

I think it will be harder for you to Enter a lucid Dream with ADD, but it's possible so dont let your condition discourage you

Plus, I know several people whose "ADD" was only a result of their diet and lack of exercise.

Whether or not that's the case. I wouldn't let getting "diagnosed" with something like ADD make you think anything is harder or easier.

Hell, it could make it easier, or have no affect whatsoever. So don't stress about it.

Dude trust me. I was diagonsed with ADD and had all signs of it. I then was going to be diagonsed with OCD, until I went through a tranformation in my life. In my opinion my "ADD" was getting alot of people money.

Just my opinion, but ADD is a load of garbage. I was diagnosed with ADD when I was younger, given meds that did nothing, and I'm still the same right now. I have great recall and can LD sometimes multiple times a week. I have a hard time believing that ADD would influence LDing at all (or that it even exists, but that's just my opinion).

I have ADD and I havn't actually gone into a lucid dream on purpose yet. I am trying hard though. I have gotten closer. Though not reaching lucidity, since trying my dreams have become more vivid. I smoke a little pot for my ADD and I still dream and remember my dreams. I love BC Canada!

I may have ADD but it's not diagnosed. I have trouble paying attention and focusing on one thing at a time for periods. It will affect/hinder the learning process to have lucid dreams but it really depends on your creativity to sustain it and keep it growing. I switch from method to method or have really fantastic ideas and try them for a while and then change again because there are just too many great ideas/methods I can think of that I want to try. Until I find one that gives me lucid dreams quite frequently, I will stick to it but when it dosen't work I change again.....

I have ADHD and OCD, I don't think that it affects too much when you're dreaming, however, it may have some effects on WILD, as it may be easier to get distracted on hypnagogic imagery and hallucinations.

I don't have too much experience on WILD to prove this though.
