I think the best motivation is to have another awesome lucid dream. So don't burn yourself out by doing RC's and things when you're already unmotivated. Just tell yourself you want to lucid dream again every now and then, then if you have a great one it should be all the motivation you need.

That's pretty much what happened to me. I got sick of trying and getting no results so I took a break but still reminded myself before bed of what I wanted. Now I keep getting short LD's and they keep motivating me because they're just tastes of what could be.

I know when I lost motivation for my DJ I lost motivation for LDing.

I think just relaxing and not feeling like it's an obligation is the best you can do.

And remember, it's not really important; great maybe, but if you don't want to do it, don't.

I want to lucid dream, but I think a part of my lack of motivation comes from when I wish so hard I can a LD, and have one easily, even while going through stress that I tire myself out of the idea... if that makes any sense.

Thanks for all the responses! I appreciate them.

Even when I lose the motivation to lucid dream I still keep my off line dream journal updated. It's become a nearly OCDish type habit now. That way when I get back into the mood for some LDs at least my dream recall will still be decent and I won't have to start again from scratch.

I think it helps to have a meaningful goal.

Mikestankus, The waking world also offers experiences that the dream world does not, there is a difference. It's sharper reality.
