      Endless Dreams After Death?

After being rudely adrupted from one of thee best dreams I have ever had. I tried so hard to get back to sleep so I could go back. Then it came to me, after death... do ye go on to another life, or stay in an eternity of dreams, where you can control everything that happens. Post what you think happens after death.

Who cares? Let's just stare at your avatar all day...

EDIT: We really need to set a limit to signature images...I'm all for them but I fear they might end up getting ridicously big in the near future.

Omg this topic is so controversial. And the thing is, I think it's a little bit more upsetting if you have a certain view on this matter and someone else thinks something completely different. We're talking about what's going to happen once you die, for godsake. lol Anyway, yeah, it's like the abortion topic. Too many debates.

Edit: Kaniaz, I agree.. I went to dreammoods.com, just to see what the boards were like, and their signatures took up like.. well... alot.

Ok i got rid of it since I hate that avatar so very much. And despite the fact, yes I am talking more about death in this thread then dreaming. But if you think of it, Life is like an uncontrolled dream, and once that dream is over. You then shall start living

      Scwigglie:
So you don't want to talk about what happens after we die or abortion because there are too many debates? Isn't the the reason that we should be talking about them? I love talking about controversial topics.

Here's my two cents on controversial topics:

What happens after you die - nothing, you're dead, no afterlife, no dreaming, nothing.

      Abortion - I'm pro-choice.

Child labour - I'm all for it. If it weren't for those jobs they wouldn't have any money at all, very little is better than none.

Animal testing - necessary, but should be done as humanely as possible.

Doctor assisted suicide - I'm for it, but strict regulations should be in place.

George W. Bush - I'd vote for him if I were American.

I think you get a choice. Once you die , your soul/spirit leaves your body (assuming most of you believe that). I've read accounts where people have been in near-death-experiences and have gone to the astral (dream) world. Others have seen God himself. Then, another countless few have either experienced the burning depths of Hell. Still, there are many who have died or been near death and just cruise(d) around the material (reality) world. In other beliefs, it's said that you are reincarnated into a plant or animal depending on the moral values of your previous life. So, taking all this into account, I'm gonna say that we must get some kind of a choice. It's all on you. Your choice. Your decision. We live with free will, so we must die with free will. It's just all about what choice you will make.

Whatever it may be, we will all find out in due time . . . death is inevitable.

lol Bradybaker, you're just upset because you think I jumped to conclusions in that other thread and thought you were depressed or something.

Anyway, that's not how I meant it. It's just that, I remember discussing all of this in school, and no one ever got anywhere. What's more, no one ever came up with anything original to say. And, it always ended in yelling and hurt feelings. That's my experience with these sort of topics. I think they should still be debated, of course, but.. at this point, I think everyone is just going around in a big circle.

I'f you think you know what happens after you die, then you're very mistaken. Of ocurse we can reason some things and have ideas but none of us really know. ANd we wont knwo til we get there. So I see why Scwigglie would say that. These dbates can be interesting and some interesting ideas come out of them but we always end up where we were when we started....in the dark. And often people do get quite upset, but I could care less...if you're one to take other peoples ideas personally for some reason, then you probably shouldnt be debating.

You should watch waking life... one scene went something like this

Guy: You know when you die, you have 6 - 12 minutes of brain activity, that could be your whole life!
Girl: Yeah, sometimes I got to sleep at like, 10 : 12 and have some long, intricate dreams and then wake up and it's only 10 : 13.
Guy: Yeah 1 second could be years and years!

So that could be right, draw your own conclusions (thats what the movie was about I'm pretty sure, well something like that)

Yeah, the idea in waking life sounds pretty cool. It actually sounds smart and is taken from scientific data. I don't agree with it in the way they mean it, but I respect it because it's not some senseless, "Yeah, uh, this is what happens because.. yeah, because that's what I said and it's the truth." lol

hmm..i'm a believer that you just rot underground (or become part of the earth...depending what others do to your body after you die)...
      but...
the other option would be that whatever you believe will happen to you will. Maybe there is a heaven, hell, such thing as reincarnation, ghosts, etcetera...and it's the one you believe in the most, which will ultimately happen to you.
Or perhaps that's just my wishful thinking...
or my way of appeasing everyone's beliefs so EVERYONE IS RIGHT!
