      What the hell?

I had a dream where I knew it was a dream, but I didn't do anything about it. :tard: I think I shouted "Aha! This is a dream!" but I didn't do anything. Is it just me or did I ruin a perfect oppertunity to go lucid?

Remember, theres a difference between saying you know its a dream, and really knowing its a dream. I've had dreams where I've said "Hey! I'm dreaming!" but didn't actually realize it was a dream.

It happens, nothing to worry about.

When that happened to me, everything around me just stopped, FROZE completely, and the ppl in front of me were looking at me like they were waiting for me to say something, or tell them what to do
Before you tell yourself Its just a different scene
Remember its just different from what you've seen

I hate when that happens. Like the other night I was like "wait a second My mom doesn't have a tail...I must be drea--Woah is that a purple zebra! Sweet!!" *totally forgets about lucid dreaming*

      Go with the flow dreams?

I had a recent one where, after doing a couple minute things, I just sat back and let the dream flow around me.

I have a lot of moments like that. I'll think things like, "I don't know if I really want to put this in my dream journal", or something like that; some part of my brain obviously knows it's a dream, but it doesn't totally come into my consciousness.

It's a bummer in a way; but maybe its part of becoming more aware of your dreams in general.

One night when I was like 5 or so, before I went asleep I told myself this: When I dream, I will be in a city and I will tell my friend it's all just a dream.

When I fell asleep, I saw myself in 3rd person perspective, and I looked like a character from a cartoon. I was standing on the corner of a street, in what looked like San Fransisco. Everything in the dream was colored red, and it was very hazy. I saw my friend, and I was trying to convince him it was all just a dream.

Once I woke up, I realized that I never really knew I was in a dream, but that I was telling myself I was. So, I wasn't really lucid I take it what you experienced was something similar? You didn't really know you were in a dream, you just told yourself that? Because when someone usually realizes they are lucid, they freak out and get an adrenaline rush- you can't miss it.

What's ironic is that I was thinking about reality checks, but since I knew it was reality (!!!!!!!!!!) I didn't bother doing one.

I've never had a dream where I say I'm dreaming and then don't become lucid, but I do have dreams sometimes where I am discussing lucid dreaming and even question the world around me but don't become lucid.

Definitely been there. It's what started me into lucid dreaming in the first place.
I'm kind of sad it wasn't a real lucid dream as that means I've only had one.

Perhaps it was just low level lucidity. There's no fine line between lucid and not.

i dreamed last night that i woke myself up to try and WILD. When i got to my kitchen to get a drink there was trash everywhere and a still lit cigarette on my table and then i opened my fridge and got frozen. All i could see was a dark figure standing in the corner. Then my alarm went off and woke me up for my real WILD attempt. I thought the dream was my real wbtb.

The worst mistake you can make is to think you're alive when you're really asleep in lifes waiting room.
