No it's not true. That's part of the magnificence of lucid dreaming! I once deliberately stood in the path of an oncoming truck just to see what would happen. It went straight through me and I didn't feel a thing!

If you die in the game, you die in real life! ^^^^^^ Stupid movie, stupid premise! This is just an old wives tale to scare kids, it doesn't even make logical sense so no you can't die from something happening in your dream unless it scared you to death and you had a heart attack. Like that one Twilight Zone episode where he stabs the knife in the guys grave but dies because he accidentally stabbed through his coat and when he turned around and felt it tug on him he thought it was his ghost pulling on him and it scared him to death. Classic episode! But in summation no it is not reasonably possible.
