You might be getting too excited (don't we all, lol?) and I suggest trying to calm yourself by walking or just talking to the DCs like in a normal dream so your brain doesn't completely knock you out of the dream from gaining too much awareness. |

When I'd get the blurry, unstable dreams I used to first, find my hands and focus on them. If that didn't stabalize things I'd yell out for the dream to clear or I'd say something like, 'this is my dream' which was me trying to assert that I am the one in control. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it didn't. |

so basically just chill out? when i realize im dreaming dont get excited and just take it easy. |

After it worked wonders for me I became a huge fan of the "Clarity, NOW!" technique. Just yell it out in an assertive voice. Your subconscious will realize you're prepared to kick its ass and will give you control over the dream. Well... that's how it worked for me, anyways heh |

In the one where I tried staring at my hands, before I became lucid I was trying to get my camera to photograph some polar bears. I realized that my contacts weren't in (even though nothing was blurry like it is in RL w/o them), and so I was trying to put my contacts in in my mom's bathroom. I passed by her digital alarm clock that was on the counter, where is usually isn't, and realized I was lucid. So for once, I was very glad to have poor eyesight! |

just take time to stabalize dream by doing things that have already been mentioned such as rubbing your hands together or touching things. (spinning might make you lose lucidity though. If you do it right though, it's supposedly the most effective.) Just take your time and when you feel like you're ready, then go and do what you want. |
