Lol Jdea I don't mean to sound like arse, you have an opinion and I respect that, but how can you be sure? There has been so damn little research on the effects of the cannabis, and the little research there is has a tremendous bias. Yes, people who smoke weed are usually problematic because smoking weed is illegal. If it weren't, a wider amount of people would consider it.

Nor am I saying that smoking it isn't bad for your health - I completely don't know. Nor do scientists, nor health educators, nor anyone.

I actually know what you mean, my brother smoked weed in secret and he looks fine. Although it's a bit harder to judge now because he's basically like a Lab Rat in where he lives for University.

Point is though, I just heard so many unhealthy things about it and that's what has lead me to believe it's Satan in the form of a drug (over reaction in words). Seriously, despite the fact this lady probably took it daily, I saw a before and after image of what the lady looked like and what the drug did to her. Don't know if it was the drug but it certainly screwed her up. Why is everyone asking me why I'm sure? It's it obvious? Actually you know what? It's probably just a United Kingdom thing. This place is screwed man!

People in every country of the world smoke dope and grow it and after all its a plant which grows naturely and to the guy who said going to amsterdam is a waste of money some of us work and it costs nothing to go and you cant get amsterdam weed where you live and yes it has the best weed bye far in the world. It's not about affording it buddy. Why would anyone want to spend their nice well earned money on basic complete shit that fucks you up? Nobody would want to do that! Lucky for me I've probably had a nice life so far because of that I don't smoke or do drugs.

And yes, I know every country smokes drugs, but it's because of the fact that it's used so reguarly that my Health Education was a bit more of a priority. Sorry if you're jealous of me being clean of the stuff, as you obviously are.

There are unhealthy things about marijuana, but that can be said about any over the counter or prescription drugs too. Of course not everyone should do it, and I personally think nobody should do it daily, but the drug laws in America are pretty stupid, I'll give you examples.

Schedule 1 means that the drug has no medicinal value.
Well the main psychoactive chemical in marijuana, THC, has been synthesized and is used in an anti-nausea drug known as Marinol, for cancer patients dealing with chemotherapy. It is also a good pain killer with a very very low toxicity compared to over the counter drugs. You can also vaporize or cook with marijuana to no get the bad effects from inhaling smoke.

MDMA is a schedule 1 drug, but it was first used in therapy sessions and was highly praised. It allowed people to open up to their therapist, and was said by therapists to have a lot of work done in a short amount of time. I have taken it once, and I can totally see how it could be used that way. (no I wasn't raving and dancing around, I was just with friends having an amazing bonding experience.

LSD is also a schedule 1 drug, but was first sent to psychologists to study the effects of schizophrenia, and the effects on "normal" people. It was also used to treat alcoholics, which had a very high success rate, and the founder of alcoholics anonymous was one of the people it treated.

Psilocybin (magic mushrooms) were used in countries all over as a shamanic tool to understand things about human nature and to cure things like depression. In modern times, it is also used this way, but has also been proven to cure cluster headaches. It has also been used to treat terminally ill cancer patients dealing with their death, to make their last months or years more comfortable and happy.

So just because you hear a lot of bad things about these drugs, doesn't mean they are all bad and have no usage. All drugs can be abused, some more than others like speed and opiates. I am in no way saying everyone should use these. They are not for everyone, and before you even consider trying any substance, you should do extensive research about the drug. And no drug should be used daily, and in some cases, not even weekly or monthly.

Also, as we here are Oneironauts, I am also a Psychonaut. I love to explore consciousness. If I had a chance to do my life over, I would not want to do any drugs, thats how dedicated I am to exploring all facets of consciousness.

So I completely respect your decision Jdeadevil, I just hope you, and others respect mine. Though I understand how the idiots ruin the name of drugs that can do so much good. It's hard to tell who uses mind altering chemicals properly and those who just want to get messed up, over the internet.

Well, it's pretty much the same for alcohol. As I've said previously, since marijuana is illegal, people who seek it are generally not of the best kind. And for being so, this person's life should suck. Marijuana provides a relief, even if it has a drawback, to that situation - and it's just the same with alcohol. Nothing in your life has meaning, but at least marijuana gives you a time to relax and enjoy. When your self-value is low, you literally get a crush on the one thing that makes you happy - marijuana - and that's how you get addicted.

Addiction occurs the same way with religions, Internet, reading, alcohol, TV, or even those people that love excessively (as in, get crazy about people they love).

Once you're addicted, marijuana is something you'd waste your well-earned money in.
