      Lucid Dream or Hypnogogic Imagery?

Last night I couldn't get to sleep. I eventually got about two hours sleep and then I was awake for the rest of the morning.

Or at least that's how it felt.

At one point in the morning when I thought I had been awake I remember reading some writing and the words didn't make any sense. I suspected I was dreaming so I tried to read the words again and they disappeared. I thought "yay, I am dreaming" and got all ready to do exciting things and then I realised that I was conscious and lying in my bed. But there was no actual feeling of waking up, just a realisation that I was conscious.

I'm not sure if I woke up from the dream and therefore it was a lucid dream or if I was simply experiencing hypnagogic imagery... either way I did a reality check... I haven't done a reality check during HI before... I've usually recognised HI for what it is without needing to RC.
Lucid Dream Goal: Give a dream character a flower and jump off the Sky Tower.

Recorded Lucids since joining: 3 DILD, 1 WILD
I often have other lucids that I forget or that I don't record for whatever reason.
Lucid Tasks Completed: 2 Basic (but one was a month too late)

Sounds like a false awakening to me. I have yet to discover that I am having a false awakening. I have done the same thing, though. I grabbed my dream journal to write in it, saw weird writing, thought it was from school, and it turned into a ND. Sounds like a short lucid to me.

This is what usually happens to me after an FA. I usually then kick myself for not noticing it, but FA just seem waaaay too realistic, even for a dream.

im going to say it was HI, this happens to me every time i try to do WILD without doing WBTB. I'll sort of have this semi-dream where i am in control of everything that happens and i can still feel my physical body, its kind of annoying becuase nothing random happens
