Odd dreamsign problem...

Ok, first off since I never spontaniously do RC's in dreams (In real life I do whenever I am/going outside, using the restroom, or when somone upsets me) I resorted to looking for dream signs. One was <something I find innapropriate to mention> and the other was when my mom gets mad at me. (She oddly gets mad at me almost 100% of the time in dreams)

The first dream sign I have had occur in a dream at least once every 1-2 weeks, not a great ammount, but enough. Also this dream sign has been occuring for over two years, so it is quite regular. Right when I decided to use it as a dream sign I had a lucid dream, but then it stopped apearing in any dreams and it has now been over a month since I decided to use it as a dream sign. The second with my mom is similar, except I didn't have an LD. I had had "mom nightmares" (lol I know...) since I was very young. Now once I decide to use it as a dream sign, my mom doesn't even APEAR in my dreams anymore. This is odd because I actually had dreams with her in them QUITE frequently until then.

What is the problem here? Dream signs seem to be the only thing that work for me (so far) asside from the spontainious realisation that a dream is occuring. Yet once I set something as a dream sign it dissapears forever!

(If this is important, both the dream signs were things I wanted to stop dreaming about UNTIL I decided to use them as dream signs. It is almost like reverse psycology on myself. O_o )

EDIT: Whoops, just realised I posted this in the wrong forum... If a mod or somone sees this, can it be moved to the correct one?

This forum is for general discussions so I suppose it fits. As for your problem, you'll just need to learn to get on without them. I personally have very little dream signs and the reoccuring ones are the ones that appear when I'm in a specific frame of mind during the day.

For example some of my dream characters may be speaking Japanese because I decided to once again continue learning it. If you don't know how to influence these signs I recommend keeping a far more in depth dream journal. When I do this I find I have a greater chance of suddenly realizing I'm dreaming.

Until then... let us share our insanity together!

Eh curses, dream signs have been the only thing to cause my LD's. (Except my one WILD) I will take your advice though and start trying to make a more in-depth dream journal. Also, perhaps I could start doing things throughout the day to try and cause custom "dream signs" This would be fun to expirament with...

      Thanks again for the help.

You're not alone. I noticed something similar when I started my dream journal.

Before my dream journal I always had dreams of being chased. Loads of them. And I thought they would make an excellent dream sign. Now since starting my dream journal I notice they have diminished drastically.

Perhaps acknowledging them is making them disappear.

I think by keeping a dream journal you will notice other, new dream signs so give it a try. Perhaps you have other dream signs you didn't realise you had.
