      Doing something you've never done

      Hello everyone

I was thinking of asking this question for a while now but seeing the poll for virgin males who have had sex in LD's i reminded me that i should i ask it.

      It's simply this:

If you do something in a LD that you have never done, like the having sex or the classic LD experience flying HOW does your mind get it right, if at all it does?

I mean its like in real life, i've never mountain climbed before or been in a hot air ballon so i have no idea what they are like. I can guess but thats all it is, a guess.

Would just be something else thats increbable about LD's if you are able to do things you've never done yet they are correct in how they feel and look in RL.

A futher point to this is what if you meet someone from real life in a LD. A celebrity is a classic point. You might know of them but having never met them you don't have anything to go on in terms of talking to them. So how do they react? - could it be they react in the LD like you think they would?

I think your mind sort-of invents what you believe it would feel like.

I tend to notice things will happen how YOU expect them to. think of any celebrity. now think to yourself " what would this person be like?" now if you met them in your dreams, chance are they'll be just like you thought. when I launch into the air and fly, I get butterflies in my stomach, and I expect nothing less! it really seems to be all about expectations, at least for me.

another example, if I were to walk up to my friend and tell him I'm dreaming he'd surely laugh in disbelief. now once in my dream I saw my best friend and ran up to him telling him that I was dreaming and that he was just my imagination, and everything he was saying was all in my head. and he looked and laughed at me in disbelief.... So I laughed back and left him there, I didn't care much as I had better things to do!

I think your brain fills in the things you know for what you don't know. I have falling dreams sometimes, when I've never experienced anything that drastic in RL. I've never been sky diving, but I have fallen before... high diving boards, trampolines, and even turbulent plane flights. I think your brain simply takes those memories of sensations and uses them. I assume that explains how you do things in dreams that you havedone before, and I think it just stretches those memories.

I've never been in a hot air balloon. I've seen tons of pictures of them, watched videos, etc. I can imagine just what it would be like to be inside of one, and if I spend time to consider the texture, sound, feel, even smell of a hot air balloon I can sort of day-dream it, although I'm not sure how real it would be. I think that's probably the same process your mind goes through while dreaming something new.

I had a dream I was friends with the Spice Girls. Besides knowing who I was, they acted just like I always assumed they do based on the movie they made that I watched as a kid. Man that was a strange dream hahaha

Yea, dreams are simulated by your experience. If you only have pseudo-experience, then other expectations will fill it in. For example say you met Angelina Jolie in a dream, you don't know what she is like, so maybe the general expectation of celebrities are like will be portrayed. Or perhaps the character of women in general in your experience.
