      Question about lucid dreaming

When I was a child, I often would play a senario in my head as I was falling asleep. It always took me a long time to drift off (sometimes hours) so I would use this method instead of, say, counting sheep. I could completely control what went on during these "dreams", but I equated them along the lines of a daydream as I wasn't asleep when I had them. Does this qualify as lucid dreaming or merely daydreaming at night?

Its merely daydreaming at night or fantasizing. I do that all the time at night only to keep me entertained while i fall asleep.
