The Look at Your Hand RC > me
Last night, I was dreaming that I was in a large public restroom, and randomly I decided to do a reality check by looking at my hand. When I did so, I noticed that I had a long, hook shaped finger, and a thumb sticking out completely sideways, so I came to the conclusion that I was dreaming. Then I thought to look at my hands again to stabilize the dream before trying too much fun stuff in the dream, but my hand still only had the hook finger and the sideways thumb. I kept trying to make it turn back into my normal hand, and in the process I woke up. Next time I'm just going to have fun with a gangly claw hand dammit.

I think if I just accepted my hands for being distorted, and didn't try to change them back to normal, I would've had a longer dream. For some reason I thought I had to change them back to normal, and was getting kind of frustrated when I couldn't

I don't like doing hand RCs in my LDs.
My hands were grossly misshapen once, and I think I even had a finger missing. I'm surprised it didn't shock me enough to wake me up instantaneously.

Actually, I read in a book that when you stay in one place for too long, you have a higher chance of waking up. It's best to move around if you want to prolong the lucid dream. However, the hand RC is quite reliable, just don't look at them for too long.

This was my first time doing a hand RC in a dream, to be honest, it freaked me out how weird my hands looked. Although like a car accident, I couldn't look away.

hahaha u made me litterally LOL when i read about ur gangly claw hand... hahaha
It's quite a lot of fun looking at your hands in a lucid dream, especially when you're already lucid.
