      Smile Hungover and WILD

Lastnight I had one drink too many with my friends and before bedtime I was concerned that I wasn't gonna remember my dreams. (I started my dream journal a couple days ago and I wanted to continue my entries... ) I slept at 3am and woke up at 8am with a major hangover. I actually remembered parts of lastnights dream, but not much detail. I decided to jot down some words in my journal. (something is better than nothing, right?) I picked up EWOLD and read some tutorials on DV. I decided to try out WILD for the first time...

I closed my eyes and started to see flashing patterns come and go. I thought of how I wanted to enter my dream in lucidity. I tried to keep my eyes shut but when I opened them I was under my blanket. I suddenly realized that the blanket that was over my head was not my real blanket, I was dreaming! I pulled the blanket over my eyes and checked my digital clock as a dream test. Sure enough I was in dreamland and I was conscious!!! I opened my door and entered an entirely different world! Whoo hoo it worked!!!

I started to feel the "waking up" feeling so I did the dream spin. Also, I started touching things like grass, my arms, and my face to avoid waking up and to stay lucid. Everything felt sooo real! Instead of taking full control I decided to let my surroundings unfold and let myself ease into the dream.

I interacted with many different types of characters and saw many beautiful women. I decided to try out flying. I've been able to fly in past dreams, but I would never have full control. (Usually I would start to fly, but then I'd spin out and land on the floor.) I started to jump and notice how high I was jumping, it felt like 10 feet! Before I knew it I was in the air! Then I felt the "spinning out" feeling. When this happened I decided to point with both hands the direction I wanted to fly and it worked with great success! It felt like I had a turbo boost! Flying became my way of traveling to the different places in my dreamland.

I then found myself in a very sterile building with white walls. It reminded me of a futuristic hospital. I kept on stating that I was in a dream to remain lucid. I noticed the great detail and there were many digital clocks that had a nice bluish-fluorescent color to them. I explored the place and enjoyed the fact that I was lucid.

There was a phone ringing and it was someone telling me it was time to go. I put down the phone and woke up.

I grabbed my phone and saw that it was 11am and that I had a missed call from my mother! What a way to start the day!!!

Wow. Amazing man. You're giving me the motivation I need right now, since I haven't had an awesome lucid dreaming in months!

I know what you mean by detail. Oh man, I would actually look around for minutes, impressed how my mind developed such a detailed dream.

thats like the ultimate lucid dream in my mind!!! i do like controlling stuff, but i find that my subconscious is much more imaginative than my conscious.. also i usually have shorter dreams when i try to controll them... how was the hangover when you woke up by the way? most of the time, my hangovers are mostly in my head (and stomach), so maybe a WBTB WILD can be a hangover cure. lol. i was trying to WILD when i woke up this morning too (bad hangover also..) but i wasnt even sure if i was sleeping cuz i was so uncomfortable... idk.

I'm glad my story gave you some motivation! Actually, this site has given me alot of motivation. I started LD back in 2000 and had some great dreams, but then I stopped practicing. It was pretty hard. Sometimes I would get really frusterated cause I would try my hardest with little or zero results. Every once in a while I'd have a random LD without induction, but didn't bother to write a journal or anything. I started to read EWOLD again cause I needed some reading material for a long flight and I instantly had an LD on the plane. When I came back from the trip I found this site and started to write down my dreams in a journal. I'm up to 3 right now and just had my first WILD (the story above). I remember last time I started I had a good two week spurt, hopefully I can finally induce with more success the second time around!
Sharing and reading our experiences helps me a great deal. We'll se what happens down the line. It's all in the mind.

I was totally in the same boat. The way you described your experience I can totally relate 100%. Those are the dreams I usually and still have. When I decided to try practicing LD again I wasn't sure where I was gonna end up. I'm reading the material over and over everyday and concentrate on only one thing I want to work on so I won't be overwhelmed. In the tutorial section of this site theres are alot of helpful stuff. I'm still learning, eventhough I had a great WILD experience I still feel I still have to work at it. Once I get a dozen I'll feel confident in what works for me.

As for the hangover...It was mostly a headache. I didn't think I would have any results either because of my condition. But, I figured if I slept again I would have a good chance of some sort of LD since I slept like 5 hours and was still sleepy. It was hard at first because my headache made it uncomfortable to go to sleep. Keeping concentration on the patterns and the
thought of lucidity helped alot. I read Confidence and Dream Feeling Induced Lucid Dream in the tutorials section right before I slept too.
