Kind of depends on what you think your parents' morals and interests center around.

If you have really religious parents, they might not like the concept of lucid dreaming, since they may think you'll "abuse" your dreams in "immoral" ways. People like this also tend to be workaholics, so as AlexLou said, they might view it as "unproductive" as well. If you have parents like this, I suggest you don't tell them.

On the other hand, if they're easygoing and have interests in the areas of the supernatural, paranormal, fantasy, etc., then they'll probably have open minds about it. If you have parents like this, I say it'd be okay to tell them, since the worst you'd get is a raised eyebrow and an "Oooookaaaaay..."

I've never brought this up to anyone I know.

It depends on what type of parents you have. Only you know whether to tell them or not. I suggest using your very own instincts. Otherwise you'll end up disappointed and feeling guilty and probably even classified as going insane. There are things you should really keep to yourself or wait till it's the right time. I have a little brother whom I cannot get him to understand the whole concept of lucid dreaming. ugggghh and he's 14 yrs.!!1

My parents don't take it seriously so I simply don't talk about it. The only person I can talk to about it is my brother who actually introduced me to the concept. My friends have no idea what it is and that I am practising it. People find the concept almost too good to be true so they think it is nonsense and I cannot be bothered to try and explain it to everyone I know.

i dont plan on telling anyone except for my bes friend that ive known for like 13 years... everyone else i know would just be like "ooookay you can think whatever you want.."
