      Ok Just A Crazy Question!

It's just a nutty question so please dont get angry by it ok!

What if..........haha Im scared to ask it now!

      Ok hypothetically

      WHAT IF......

In the future, for the right amount of money. They could hook you up
to IV for nourishment, and then give you a shot of something that they
had developed for inducing LDs and staying in them. And for as long as
you wanted or even for forever, until your heart gave out!!

If you could live inside a Lucid Dream forever,

      Would you.........could you??

Kind of like "Vanilla Sky," no? I definitely wouldn't agree to it, as much as I love dreaming and detest reality most of the time. Why give up one for the other when you can have both, each with their own distinct advantages?

I might do a test run, setting up a month-long LD (assuming I had the money and either was retired or could return to my job after the test was over). I might also see if they could temporarilly induce a form of amnesia that causes me to forget that the dreamworld isn;t the waking world, without me forgetting that I can bend "reality" to my will, but only as a test. If I had severe problems in reality, such as being completely paralysed or in constant pain, I would try living in an LD and seeing if it worked. (I would want people to read the latest of myfavorite book series, trying to insert them into my dreams as books, but that would probably be part of the test cycle.)

haha when i first thought of this today i wondered if it was similar to
      the movie 'total recall'

Anyway i never thought of those things tho jet! It would be a fantastic
thing for, if you were already very old or disabled!! The amnesia part
wouldnt matter to me cuz all the while you would know who and what
you really are because you are semi-conscious. If there were things
i wanted to forget in reality i would just not think of them.....so you
should be able to say to yourself tho....well i guess i should go and
see my mom or i guess i should go and have myself a real dinner or
whatever. I guess you wouldnt be able to, if you had many ties to the
real world because your wife or husband would never go for it! lol
Your wife would say something like.....If you think youre going to go
and spend good money and try to escape reality for awhile, you got
      rocks in your head buddy!

I would do it for maybe a week at a time! It would be a great way to
      lose ten lbs anyway!

I wonder if we could mentally handle being in a LD for that long??

And heres another thing that never dawned on me before!!
When we are all old and can hardly walk anymore, all of us, will have
complete and total freedom of movement and have youth and much
      much more in our LDs!!

That is basically the issue in the movie Abre Los Ojos (Open Your Eyes) and its english remake Vanilla Sky.

It depends on how many of my friends and family members were alive at the time. If I were going to be alone, I would stay in the dream. If I could be around the people I love, I would take reality.

Did you see it before/after you learned about LDing? If you aren't familiar with the concept or even movies like The Matrix it can be kind of difficult to follow Open Your Eyes. It's a fantastic movie though, heavily based on LDing. You should definitely watch it again! I've seen it like 7 times I catch something new every time
