False Awakening?

Im not sure if i understand it? Is it when you are dreaming youre awake and doing something in your room or house, and you dont realize youre dreaming? So its not lucid because youre not conscious youre dreaming? Like one time, i dreamed i got up for work, then woke up for real thinking, right on its saturday? Or is the term only used here for when youve been lucid and had a false awakening, or......?

A false awakening (FA) is when you are really asleep and dreaming but believe you have just woken up. So your example of dreaming of getting up and getting ready for work and THEN really waking up was a FA. I hope I said that clearly!

Hehe....FA's are fun. I wake up, late for school, taking too long in the shower, only to wake up in bed on a Saturday. Good times.

The worst FA's are the ones where you feel like you have to go to the bathroom; you get up, go do your business, and then wake up, realizing you didn't actually use the bathroom.

The worst FA's are the ones where you feel like you have to go to the bathroom; you get up, go do your business, and then wake up, realizing you didn't actually use the bathroom. haha i did that too when i was a kid, many times...and i distinctly remember that i would wake up the second id actually let it start to flow, and think wtf?? and my mother swears that i did this, but i cant remember it at all, and its kind of...well really embarrassing! She said she found me (when i was about 8 i guess) squatting and peeing in the middle of the livingroom floor....which of course was a rug!

Gah! I hate those peeing FAs! When I wake up for real I always worry for a second or two that I will discover that I'm laying in a puddle!!

Had a few pretty unpleasant FAs. Like waking up, trying to switch on the light. Stays dark. Back in bed - i was just dreaming. This repeats until you are finally able to wake up for real. The thing is: I knew i was dreaming but i was like caught in a nightmarish loop.

I love FA's. Especially if I wake up during the day, since I'm such a bold badass during daylight. Once I had an FA that I woke up to go to school, and as I walk outside I see there's a war going on. After dying about 20 times, I finally woke up. (Well, not so much dying as being shot in the head and then pretending to be dead so the guy who shot me would go away )
