I have browsed these forums for a while.

I started lucid dreaming over 2 years ago and have made consistent attempts at WILDing over a year and a half.

I know WILDing is a difficult step for many people. In my experience, no matter how close I get, I can never seem to pass that hurdle of jumping into the dream. I have experienced everything that is described, even the transition into a dream. The problem is, I can only enter immediately after I exit the dream and typically have to be in SP during this period. It is rare that I exit into SP, so it is entirely unreliable. I cannot seem to WBTB. I have tried every technique. I have been fairly diligent with my efforts.

The longer I wait on a WBTB the harder it is to enter the dream world (obviously). I try to remain awake for only a small period of time. No matter how I adjust it, I never get any decent results. I have even begun attempting in the afternoon. I have occassionally reached the point where I feel like I am falling, but can still never finish the process (I have also RCed just in case I did enter a dream).

No matter what I do, it doesn't seem to work.

The question is, do you think it takes a certain type of person to WILD?

Theoretically, since everyone dreams, it should be possible for everyone to WILD, but I am not convinced. It might take a certain type of concentration that some simply haven't discovered, or maybe cannot acquire for various reasons. I have been told to keep trying, but that is not very assuring since I have been doing so for nearly 2 years.
