      Opening eyes while sleeping...

I tried to WILD several times and noticed that after some time, when I'm already 'paralysed' my eyes will open. That's rather frustrating, because I can't fully relax my eyes (have to keep them closed) and maybe this is why I've never successfully WILDed (I always waited about 90 minutes, it always suprises me how patient I am).

Today I had a natural LD and woke up in the middle of it. I didn't move, hoping I'd somehow come back to the dream and suddenly I saw some images in front of my eyes (that was really cool, now I know what to expect while WILDing). But I felt my eyes were in fact opened!! So I closed them and the images and light patterns disappeared. I opened them again (a little bit) and saw the images again. I didn't successfully come back to the dream, probably I had already slept too much, but I wonder what happened to me. Should I have my eyes open while WILDing? :/

I know it was my real eyes, not the dreamworld ones, because, well, after completely opening them, I knew it, you know what I mean.

I've had this happen before in an ordiary dream when I was a child. If you think about it, I kind of became "lucid", but didn't know what that was back then. Found I could half open my eyes and still see things from the dream. It also happened to me last year. Weird experience.

And no, don't keep your eyes open during WILDing, that would keep you from transitioning for sure.

If you're not combining WBTB (sleep 4-6 hours first) and WILD, I'd recommend it. I've had the problem where my eyes feel like they're twitching rapidly like REM phase of sleep (rapid eye movement). Sleeping for a while first helps my eyes be more relaxed, and generally easier to keep closed.

Just remember, when it feels like you're being pulled in (you'll know the feeling) don't try to become more aware, just let it silently take you.

      Good luck.

Maybe try wearing a sleep mask?
