      Interesting Dream Recall Problem

I'm making a new effort at trying to LD. I am naturally good at remembering my dreams, always being able to remember at least 2 or 3 dreams per night. However, every time I try to keep a dream journal (which it seems is always recommended) my dream recall drastically decreases and I struggle to remember just one dream. Will this eventually go away? Why would my dream recall decrease when I start writing down my dreams in order to remember them? Would I be better off just not keeping a journal, but reviewing my dreams upon awakening and looking for dreamsigns?

TheWrathOfCreation: Keeping a dream journal is not just for remembering dreamsigns. For me, it puts importance on dreaming - if I didn't keep one, I would never remember my dreams later, and I would slack off with dreaming until I just...stopped. It reminds me to keep going.

So for me, it holds a lot of importance for different reasons, but for your problem, hapkidoman, it sounds like you'd be just fine without it. You don't need to keep a journal to have a lucid dream, it's mostly for dream recall (which you seem to be fine with). So to start with LDs, I'd go onto trying out techniques (MILD, WILD, WBTB etc). =)

Thats weird. I've never heard of a DJ impairing dream recall. What I do to remember them, is to write them down, go through them a few times while showering, then i tell my friend who helps me interpret them, and if they're really interesting, I'll tell other people.

      Sorry, i didn't actually post a solution >.<
